hey peeps
i remember reading somewhere that crowcams or similar do any grind for $650
so, on that note, three questions....
1. Is that correct?
2. Grind best suited for high rpm circuit/ hills work, not drag racing
3. does ANY different grind require new cam gears & valve springs
cheers peeps, all help appreciated

1. dont know.. call them and ask
2. for circuit/hills you want mid/top power, lots of torque for hills
3. if you go a more agressive cam you will need valve springs. No matter what you get you'll need cam gears, unless the grinds are built retarted by certain degrees.

They can do grinds for the 3.5L motor. I think they will be more than $650.. but not by much. Think maybe $800.
Any grind with more lift will want firmer valve springs. Just longer duration and you probably don't need em.. however I doubt you'll get cams that don't increase lift somewhat. They're only $360 for a set, just do it :P
Advancing or retarding cam timing moves the torque curve up or down the RPM range.. retarding timing pushes torque higher and advancing moves it lower. However if you design your cams right out of the box the torque curve will have the desired shape in the right place straight up.. in theory ;)
Keep in mind you can get custom grinds now courtesy of Street Torque. Price is similar to the normal RPW grinds but you can roll your own (or get Dallas to spec it for you).

Cant wait to see some footage of it on a track mate, good work :D
As for cams, your best ringing crow or your friendly repco machine shop and having a talk to them, they are going to know exactly what to do and exactly what you want. Just tell them your not worried about compromising idle quality
