I used this variant of sikaflex specificaly because of the shore rating and availability. Its holding up great and made a noticable difference around the track to throttle responce and tightnight of the engine.
This is what the mount will end up like (http://turbocharade.kicks-ass.org/files/charade/engine-mount-guide/engine-mount.avi)
Pic and video only (no text guide) here (http://turbocharade.kicks-ass.org/files/charade/engine-mount-guide/)
Step 1
Remove mount from car and clean the rubber as best you can.
http://turbocharade.kicks-ass.org/files/charade/engine-mount-guide/step-1.jpg
Step 2
Tape up one side of the mount so that the poly-urethane has a mould to keep it from spilling out.
http://turbocharade.kicks-ass.org/files/charade/engine-mount-guide/step-2.jpg
Step 3
Make sure its going to be poly-urethan tight and get the tube ready
http://turbocharade.kicks-ass.org/files/charade/engine-mount-guide/step-3.jpg
Step 4
Fill the hollow parts of the mount as best possible. The less air bubbles the better so fill it from the bottom up. Once its full run your finger around the top to make an attractive surface. After an hour dip your finger in dish washing liquid and rub the untaped surface smooth without breaking the skin

Finnished product
You should end up with a tidy looking mount. After at least 14 hours the tape can be removed from the other side.

No problem at all, it will help alot.. and the price is right (so long as your handy with a spanner and sticky tape)
That guide is nothing, you should read my engine rebuild or turbocharger rebuild guide :D

i've gone to your website, downloaded a few of ur vids, read ur articles.. you do have 1 quick little diahatsu! good work man :D
Not having a go at you but why don't you put all your effort into something more powerful like a skyline/commodore/xr6-8/or even a magna?... something with a bit more omph!

Because in a straight line the charade doesn't lack, especialy considering what it is
:D
In the twisties is where its at thought, and the cars listed lack compared to my little machine.
Also big cars cost more money to do up, most of my gear is cheap and second hand which i then rebuild for nix (turbo, motor, ive just built a electronic distributor for my motor, carbi)
Now im out of uni (mechanical engineer) I have been looking to get a small rwd i can take to the track instead of the charade and give the charade a daily driving job. Looking for a S14 while at work as we speak actualy, amoungst spamming forums ofcourse :D

yeah the S14's let alone most silvias fly when modded up, but i wanna see a huge over-sized front mount cooler, twin t28 turbos and dual exhausts on this diahatsu though :D now that would be something to see!
I wish i knew more about the mechanics of cars so i could service/modify it myself.

NOT A CHANCE
:D
I am a real subscriber to the "all go no show" theory. If it wasnt for regulations I wouldnt have bonnet pins :( Not that its a sleeper, just that its a waste of bloody money when i can mount a decient size cooler, small resonsive turbo all hidden and end up faster due to less lag and better throttle responce from less pipe work.

There is only 1 way to learn, so next problem you have with your magna, spend a few bob and get some spanners and tools and we'll walk you through fixing it :D

hahaha, nah bro you need tha full sik intercooler noise *makes stupid noise with mouth* when changing gears and massive amounts of turbo lag u leh! lol
can't be bothered with the spanner, also i spend 6 days of the week in the office so the day i have off i'm usually out with friends or chillin'

I too have a office job now im out of uni, but every chance i get i work on cars and try new things, there is quite possibly something wrong with me
i just mustered up a whole heap of different car parts and built an electronic distributor for my motor to replace the contact points inside. its a work in progress and is almost at the stage of being able to control timing on boost.

nope, its fairly hard, i can press it in about 2mm at the most. trying to move the shaft by hand is impossible, a lot harder than the standard jobby

Well i have a few tools but mostly use the ring end spanners and a socket set.
i have
8-32mm sidchrome ring ends
small sidchrome socket set
big sidchrome socket set
a quality screw driver set
Timing light
tuning tacho
dwell meter (not as important for efi and electronic ign cars)
electrical terminals and crimps
but most importantly, i have my trusty hammer and breaker bar for when things go

saw some ppl were havin problems with engine mounts, try Page 1 of this thread.

For the owners who thinks solid engine mounts will reduce vibrations, you're strongly adviced to get a genuine engine mount, going solid is okay if you are racing and expect the harshness, otherwise no mount will beat the factory mounts in absorbing unwanted vibrations.
I've been there done that, in the end I went back to the soft rubber mount. I'll rather replace the mount every 2 years if I have to than to live with the harshness all the time even when I don't want to fang it around. Maybe I'm just getting old.
