i just bought a new magna TR executive and was wondering what mods would be great to do first, i gotta put my stereo in still, so i was wondering if there 6.5" spaces in the front doors? i heard theres 6x9" spaces on the back shelf...i have a cone shaped pod air filter and have been told that this would damage my engine? is this true, what would it do to my engine? :?

i was also wondering, what type of exhaust would be good to put on my car to give it more oomph and a nice chunky sound, or should i just change the muffler? anyones opinion?

There's plenty of room to put 6.5" in the doors, I've done that (Pic attached)
With the Magnas, they run a special type of air sensor called a MAS or MAF sensor. This uses a honeycomb section which the air passes through, and it's CRITICAL that it passes through straight otherwise bad readings result in loss of power, fuel economy etc.
With a cone shaped filter it is possible that the air doesnt go through straight and causes the problems listed above. The way around this is either to get a K&N Panel filter (As I have) or a K&N MAS sensor specific oval pod.
Is yours a V6? Manual or Auto?
Exhaust wise, if you're not after a loud-as exhaust, then I'd recommend a Lukey LR2779 as I have. Nice and quiet at idle, but when you tromp it, it has a nice growl to it that's definitely noticeable but not enough to get you a canary ;)
Other mods I'd recommend are:
2.5" mandrel bent cat-back exhaust.
RPW Extractors (PM me about these)
You can get a Rising rate fuel pressure regulator, but it's probably not much use until you do further mods. After that then you can go onto:
Porting and polishing, cam work etc.
If you have a manual, get the RPW semi ceramic clutch, from 20% to 50% extra clamping force with no extra pedal effort. I can vouch for this, I have one and I actually noticed the clutch was lighter than before! An amazing clutch!
Other things like a quick shifter kit (I've ordered one, so I will report on how good it is in a few weeks) and other things that I cant think of now will certainly change the feel of your car for better :)
Maybe lower 1-1 1/2 inches with some nice munroe shocks and king springs, strut brace for the front will tighten things up there. Talk to your local suspension place about them, or try www.whiteline.com.au
Cheers mate and welcome to Aussie Magna!
