Hey guys,
As most of you know, ive got the Sony 7" Media centre screen where a normal HU would normally fit.
now, ive now bought a new DVD/VCD/MP3 Reader that will fit in the unoccupied DIN below the Screen,
Question: oviously i will requre power for this new unit, and was wondering is it safe to 'tap' into the power cable for my screen? u knoe what i mean?
otherwise, what other suggestions do you have for me to power up the new unit, with minimal fuss :P
Benji.

Booya, do your interior & exterior lights dim with your stereo? In my mate Dan's Lancer, his interior lights (esp on his deck) and his headlights and spotlights dim with his bass, and a light under the dash lights up (i think to say that he's drawing to much power). All he's running is his Clarion deck powering the rear speakers, Kicker amp powering the single sub and two fornts, neons, and hi/lo beam spotlights (very fancy :D)
oh well! looks cool w/ the dimming effect.

I'd put a stop to that asap.
Alternators do not like being run over-current. (trust me)

A Cap isn't going to solve electrical problems if the screen is constantly dimming, which suggests an issue with alternator supplying insufficient current. A cap is only really in place for the occasional large dip in voltage.

his interior lights (esp on his deck) and his headlights and spotlights dim with his bass,
If it is because of the Bass then that is where the Cap will work!
The cap will only help with deep base.
Therefore if he tries the stereo without the bass plugged in and see if the lights still dim.

First you should check all wiring and upgrade the battery. If it's still dipping then consider a cap.
My system is over 1000w RMS and with an Optima 750cc battery I dont need a cap.
