Two choices.
New,
Sapphire Blue TW AWD VRX with Leather all black interior for $31,000.
New,
Black 380 Base Model Manual, $35,000-ish.
What you guys think?
I test drove both, definately liked the Magna more in terms on handling and the leather embroided with VRX. The 380 was much faster though, but I cant say I like the interior as much.
Which one would you choose? Not buying myself, but just curious.

I would go the Base Model 380 and see how much modding you can do to it.

380. Might hold its value more also down the line. Who knows. But I like the 380 more than the TW, interior probably isnt as good as the TW VRX, but the 380 exterior styling is nice and it'll be great to see a modded 380. And yes, they go hard! :D

go with something different, the 380, it's new, it looks good, and goes harder, as for mods, decide on that later

This has got to be one of a toughest decisions.
The TW is a VRX, AWD, and has a leather interior. Albeit, it's not very good looking (personal, opinion).
The 380 is a base model, but better looking, newer, more powerful, and probably will be worth more in 3 years.
I'd go the 380 (keeps its value, hopefully).

I havent driven the 380 but there are a score of things i dont like. The hard plastics everywhere, the lack of rear headroom, the overall blandness of the styling(especially the base model) Also from early reports the 380 isnt going to be easy to mod much past the chip/exhaust stage due to severely limited space in the engine bay. If I was to get a 380 it would have to be the VRX (manual) but quite honestly im not sure if I could go back to FWD. The comment about resale for the 380 is probably valid but it depends on how long you are going to keep it or the manor in which you are purchasing.

Wait until 2006 and get into a 380 for under $30000. :D

My question though.
TW VRX AWD - a fully optioned car with a far superior drivetrain, or a barebone 380 FWD.
Hard decision.

Are you guys serious??? The 380 will be worth less than the TW AWD VRX in 2 years I'd recon, you probably couldn't sell it for more than $31k once its driven off the floor. Think about it, noone's going to buy a second hand 2005 model car for $31k if they can get it from a dealer for $35k now or for $30 in a years time.
The TW AWD VRX will be one of those cars that keeps their value above the rest of the fleet because it has all the options that everyone wants and is willing to pay for. With the $4k you save, you can lower it, put rims and a full exhaust on it and maybe even make some body mods. It doesn't look as hot as the 380, but you can make it hotter.
Don't be silly with your money, but get what you want. I don't particularly like the look of the TW, but with AWD and VRX features and a few mods, I'm sure I'd pick it over a base 380. Having said that, the 380 looks shmick so if you don't mind FWD, stock everything and a bit of devaluation, go for it.
Cheers,

I'd go the AWD VRX man... sure, you'll be one of the first to have the all-new "380", but they'll be as common as any other car on the road in 6-12 months...
I've taken the 380 for a test drive and it's ok, but nothing special in my opinion. Even the acceleration didn't do much for me (except when throwing it over to tiptronic, then it was pretty sweet). The base model 380 is also well-equipped for a base model car, but still, if I had the choice between that and leather/AWD/VRX sexiness... the TW would be my pick any day.
Plus, you could probably spend the extra 4k on getting the power/torque to 380 figures.

the only advantage i'd find with a base 380 is the fact u can get it in a manual (and will get a few looks from passers by for a few months) and possibly a *slightly* better looking car, although, the VRX in TL-TW are quite nice

Will the budget not stretch to a 380 VRX?

I also feel that the Colour coded grille and headlights the VRX from the TL-TW series makes a big difference on its appearance. Also the rear bodykit's gray stripe at the back. The low profile spoiler also hides the baloon feel of boot, which I dont like at all.
Basically I like the TW VRX looks wise and interior wise over the 380, but the 380 has the new engine and better gearboxes. TW has AWD, Hard decision indeed.
Personally I'm leaning towards TW AWD VRX. Add full 2.5" Exhaust system, Lower. Will look really good and will handle like a dream.

I'd be leaning to the TW VRX AWD.
I'd drop a manual tranny in it (a few have been converted) and you'll have something that will hold it's value as it would be about 1 of 3 manuals in AWD.
I quite like the TL/TW, but please do something with those headlights (vinyl over it as in thread earlier today, or Bunbury do inserts to cover up the ghastly part that sweeps back)
Drop it 50mm, look at some tasty rims.
AND IT'S SAPPHIRE BLUE! Love that colour.

Get the VRX AWD it will be a more comfortable car, nicer inside and have an exhaust not to it. U also save some money, get a garage to put it in.

i'll be leaning towards the 380, i'll say this again, its like comparing a ts to te exec :D
If you dont mind then by all means go for the vrx awd, as its a nice car too, love them both!

The TW VRX AWD for sure. Have had one for 5months (albiet supercharged) but they are a great car, handle excellently, and are very very comfortable (leather might be a bit hot in summer). Lower it 50mm at the front and 30 mm at the rear and she will sit beautifully. And trust me, you won't need to worry about resale in 2 years cause you wont want to sell it. Besides the fact that it is a VRX AWD and not a base model 380, it shall hold the value a lot better than some think. And with the money you save on the rrp ($42990) you can afford to speak to sprintex.
Offer them $30,000 or less for the TW you never know unless you try
and be prepared to walk , lower it with 18's then do something like the
Bunbury front end kit to get rid of the ugly look and you'd have a nice ride .
