Howdy doods! My sister finally bought her Magna, and I went a long for the ride (1 hour each way). She payed $9,400 and got a 1997 TE Executive V6 Auto. A little phone call to our mechanic friend confirmed that the gearbox was of the newer kind (ie not dodgy early TE stuff) and that the computer was okay too. We tested her out, took her for a nice drive and ended up buying the darl. However, when we brought it home, the battery started dying and so it was concequently replaced by the RAC. This was due to it living a sheltered life. We have noticed however a few things that concern us with the car, and we were hoping you helpful people here could shed some light on our situation.

1) Interior light does not work - sister deaply concerned.

2) Electric antenna does not work. It initially worked upon purchase of car, but after returning home, it stays in its "home" position.

3) Electric mirrors. Assuming mirror motors need replacing but not sure. Upward/Downward movement in drivers side mirror, no movement in other directions/mirror.

Thanks!

Hey mate. Might be a silly question, but is the interior light really broken? I know when I first got my TF Magna
it took me a day or so to realise that there was an on,off and door setting to the light . ;)

If not, mebbe a stuffed fuse/bulb?

Also, some WD40 sprayed in behind the glass of my side mirrors and a little manual stimulation had the motors slipping and sliding again. Hope some of this helps.

yeah narkus, i'd start with the most obvious answer, even though it may seem a little stupid at first!!

and seeing as the TF execs dont come standard with an elec aerial, does it have some kind of mounted switch that may have been bumped causing it to not react to the stereo on???

it all sounds electrical, i'd check a few fuses and wire connections as well... the motors in the mirrors shouldnt have gone yet!

Fixed problem 1 - replaced globe!

Fixed problem 2 - found hidden after market switch which disables antenna.

Ficed problem 3 - WD40 mate!

Big thanks from my sister to Kage_NoDe for supplying us with the WD40 tip. Your prize is in the mail.
