Hiya, i'm planning on cutting some holes into my front door trims to allow for a 6' splits and i'm just wondering how everyone else has done theirs. Pictures would be great.
I also want to sound deaden the doors too, i have read a LOT of tutorials and i think i have it down pat, but what have you guys done? I'm a little strapped for cash and i'm not sure how much sound deadener i'll be able to buy, so what would be my best option; deaden the actual metal frame of the door or the plastic trim? Or maybe do a bit of both specificly around the speaker?

Around and behind the speaker then work your way back from there.

If all the clips in your door trim arn't broken then the doors shouldn't be too bad. I just cut the hole out of my door trim where the hole in the door is. I can post pics if you wish.

When you take the trim off, be careful of the clips when putting them back in. I bent one accidentally and now the trim doesn't sit properly (only noticeable by me though :P).
I'll go outside and take some pics now if i cbf lol.

ah, haha. Awesome. Thanks man. I just got the head unit today and i was gonna install it but i haven't any electronic tools on me (crimper, soldering iron, heat shrink gun, etc) so i'll be heading to a friends place in a few weeks who has all the stuff. By then i'll have some speakers and hopefully the nesessary sound deadening gear and i can do it all in one hit.
Cheers.
