Has anyone check out the 06 Ecilpse Ralliart Concept for US SEMA 2005.
Here is a couple of links :-

To my knowledge that the 06 US Eclipse shares the US Galant Platform, therefore shares the 380 Platform. (PS41 Platform)
So if they can use the AWD system under both the Endeavor and EVO for the Ecilpse may be they can put it under the 380.
Ralliart 380 AWD with 298 KW (400 hp).
I CAN NOT WAIT !!! :D :D :D

Yes yes, its been said before. PS41 can use the awd drivetrain from the Endeavor. The problem is, before a case can be made to MMC, MMAL has to break even with the 380, so give it a year, and if things are will going strong, we will have an awd varient of the 380, possibly forced induction (as it has so been hinted). give it time my child.

And just to give you some more hope, this is from MMNA's concept car specifications of the RALLY RAIDER (http://media.mitsubishicars.com/detail?mid=MIT2005110156193&mime=ASC) concept car:
Highly modified 3.8-liter MIVEC V-6 twin turbo built to Dakar Rally-racing specifications
Enjoy.

i beleive it can also take the same locally developed AWD system that is on the AWD magna's, and if the rumors are toe be beleived, MMAL already has a turbo V6 on one of its engine dyno's..
but as previously said, none of this will happen unless the 380 is a success, so at this stage there is no plans to do turbos or AWD untill the 380 has "earnt its stripes"

and according to a lot of people on here and else where, none of this will happen because they all think the 380 will be a failure... :doubt:
everyone needs to just sit back, have faith and watch how it all pans out

im not sure where i heard it either but i have heard rumours of RALLIARTs plan to launch a twin turbo awd pending enough public interest in th 380.
This is when Ralliart realy steps in to gear and modifiys all mitsis like HSV is to holden.
There were even plans for a ralliart Colt.

Yes, but my point is, with all their experience, and the existing technology.. it would be fairly easy to implement twin-turbo AWD in the 380. :)

mistu should just come out with a whole ralliart series, it would creat much interest i reckon,
ralliart magna, ralliart lancer ( evo), and a ralliart 380, maybe a ralliart pajero, rallit art mirage,
they should of made the 380 either rwd or awd from the start

i would take FWD over RWD cause the handleing capabilites are a damm site better in a FWD. Plus FWD is a heap cheaper to produce (i dont see how but ive been told about this) and given that MMAL is trying to get itself out of debt they need to make the best possible car they can with out spending the most money.

no offence, but you must have a very unique driving style if you find FWD a better handling setup then RWD, either that or you have never driven a sweet handling RWD car before like an MX5, RX7, or even some of the better holdens and fords. Ofcourse it may have just been a typo on your part :P

Totally agreed Bain, FWD is good in away but geting out of slides and oversteer RWD are Better, BUT AWD IS SWEET, pity i have a FWD at the mo
HOW COME EVERY BLOODY THREAD TURNS INTO A FWD VS RWD.
CAN'T PEOPLE JUST GET OVER IT AND ACTUALLY HAVE A INTELLIGENT DISCUSSION

So are you lol , seriously though, I’m looking forward to the future with the 380, If it sells well, I hope we do see a "Ralliart" version.
I honestly think the 380's drive train can handle more power, and I reckon a nice supercharger would be sweet, or a turbo that can deliver good mid-range "boost", without coming on harsh.
The 380 has a nice amount of torque down low, and could do with some mid-range "boost". Mitsubishi have the technology, they just need the $$$$, and some time to perfect the set-up, engineer it, so the 380 doesn’t become a dog, Im finding the handling very nice it, compared to my car, for a FWD it is very well balanced.
AWD coupled with a manual would be cool, but the 380 will start to become a real pork chop, with all that extra weight. Id prefer to see a FWD boosted 380 to compete with XR6T.

I think MMAL got just a little burnt with the phenominal sales of the ralliart TJ Magna, though the bodykit was not to everyones taste.

Yes! In some respects FWD is better. Mind you, not in a large family car :D

Oh lord.....they've had a ralliart magna (pity they ripped the awd out of THAT). They've got the performance lancers (evo). 380 performance (I'd like to see that, soon enough I hope). Ralliart Pajero? Wait till the EVO pajero comes out...ralliart mirage, the 130kw 1.6l? (not exactly sure on the engine size) mirage cyborg not enough? That's what pisses me off, people scream blue murder at me for saying how it's a under teched car (the 380)....but if people did their research, they'd quite easily find out mitsubishi has been making HIGH performance **** (the good kind) for years!!!

Actually they made an interesting comment on the DVD about FWD being better in terms of quietness and vibration (as in I assume no driveline passing down the middle of the car)
Probably true, but then again a lot of extra sound deadener would accomplish the same thing.

was told the other day that an AWD model is not possible due to the rear suspension design on the 380 but Turbo is a big possibiity....

It is absolutely possible for the 380 to be AWD, just take one of the cars and put it up on the hoist, have a look at the back of the car, you will see loads of space there.... right where a rear diff would be!

Good Morning Guys! I know this is somewhat out of topic, but I am from Florida, US, and I have a US version of the Galant GTS aka 380. and My question is, Is the 6G75 Found on the aussie 380 MIVEC? or is it just the same Engine with the 230 HP and 250 TQ ( sorry, don't know what the conversions are in kw)
Thanks Guys!!!

The 380's over here come with a 3.8 litre non MIVEC V6 producing 175Kw (I think). Does that help?

Yes it does!!! Thanks so much! that means that it is the same engine, therefore, since there isn't a lot popularity in developing parts for this vehicle, hopefully RPW and other tuning companies in Australia will develop parts for the 380, that way I can Import parts from over there, over here and into my vehicle!!! :D
I really want a twin kit with an AWD conversion!!!

The 380 produces 235HP and 251 lb-ft of torque, so the same as the Galant, just without MIVEC :P
