Was trying to take the front engine mount off today.

I got the screw out easily so now the engine was free of the mount.

But when i tried unscrewing the bolts that were holding the mount to the chassis, i couldnt get them off. Do i just need to work out a way to get something in their to hit the socket to budge the bolt or what do people do?

Also had the same prob trying to undo the screws for the brake pads.

We had same problem with mine. The middle bolt wouldn't move, and we ended up snapping the head off. There are some liquids you can put on that will loosen it. Not sure what its called though. Im sure someone here knows what im talking about and will tell ya.

Good luck. I still have to drill mine out and put a new bolt on :(

have you jacked the engine into the right position?

is this the engine mount near the water bottle at the top?

you will beed to jack the engine up a little bit so the bolt is directly straight and it will slip out

I did say "front engine mount" you know the one between the radiator and the extractors down the bottom.

And i also did say "I got the screw out easily so now the engine was free of the mount." so the engine was no longer attached to mount and i was trying to remove the bolts holding the mount to the chassis.

sorry, i tend to think the front of the engine is technically the side where all the belts are. my bad

with the "side engine mount" as you would call it can also be freed from the engine too without taking the bolt off from the chassis

anyways, i havent taken the "front engine mount" out before so im pretty useless arent i :doubt:

Oh dam.

Well the thing was I wasnt sure if the engine needed to be supported (if anyone knows please tell me) So i got the car jack and jack it up right under the mount so once I took the bolt out, the engine would rest on the jack if it decided to fall.

So the engine was free of the mount, but the mount had a few bolts holding it to the chassis, and i could get the socket peice in their, but it just wouldnt budge. I was only getting it from the top, and now that i think of it, it was 32 degress. So maybe the metal expanded a bit. Ill try again on a cold day :p

buy ur self a big touqre wrench, like the one that are50cm long .ive got one and ud be amazed the leverage u can get. i use my normal size and if that dosent do it i pull out the big 1 and it hardly fails. also i shock the bolt and nut first with a hammer. not so u damage it just enough to free it. just my 2cents

Yep, happened to me. But the drivers side mount had 3 bolts on it, so one snapped off, but still have 2, which is enough. If you snap the head off, you can still there the mount off, just cannot bolt another one in as the rest is still stuck in it
