Yes it was a potential problem.
I received a letter on Monday last from Mitsubishi (dated 27/10/05) and Pilkington advising me of the possible problem. My car was checked by the Pilkington rep at the dealership before I picked it up and did not have the defect.
I must say that I am pleased with the promptness of Mitsu's response.
Cheers,

seems like a supplier problem, as the report says - not mitsu's fault....god I expect a few more "niggles" to crop up yet - when you thin about it, how many brand spanking new models, new design from the ground up, escape these kinds of things!

Actually MMAL flopped with the TL, because of DC's genius, MMC, has been going downhill for quite some time, even when MMAL sold 40000 Magna/Vereda's, MMC still registered a total loss of 1 Billion dollars.
The 380 in no way can flop MMAL, Its not the nail in the coffin, the Coffin is nailed and ready to be buried, the 380 is MMAL's its last chance to stay in local production.
As its been said its a manufacturing default from the supplier, it happens, Most of the vehicles will prob be checked before they even get released into the consumers hands.

Im sick to the death of 380 bashing. All cars have their teething problems on release and if you put some thought into how many parts there are in the manufacture of a car i think that the handfull of failures that Mitsubishi have had and the promptness that they have shown in "curing" these issues has to be applauded. There have been other cars in the past that have had many more problems than the 380 has had and have gone on to be successful and well received vehicles. I think that this thread should be locked before more damage is done. The car hasnt even been given a chance yet.
