I bought a KS about 3 weeks ago, and the people that had it before me had had the keyless entry and alarm disconnected for some reason. I want the keyless reconnected but dont want to go to the expense of having someone else do it if its as simple as "pressing a button" so to speak.
I had my brother in law who is a 3rd year auto eleccy have a look, but he isnt sure of exactly where it all is as he mainly works on trucks.
Can anyone give me an idea of where and how I may go about this? So I might point him in the right direction. Apparently all the bits an pieces are still there (according to the original owners.)
Sorry if this makes no sense, I am far from mechanically minded, I struggle changing the wiper blades!

It might just be that the car is not programmed to the remote (or the other way around).

Put the keys into the ignition and turn to accessories.
Then turn key to on and back to accessories 3 times. (don't start the car...)
Press any button on the remote.

If the indicators flash, you're in business.
If they don't, you need a new battery in your remote or you'r remote sensor is disconnected or not working.

Have a go and let us know,

Lol, you are!
Thanks, I know that the battery is flat, tested it today. So will have to get that tomorrow.
I'm sure they told me it was disconnected though. Just need to know if its just a matter of plugging something back in, or a little more complicated.
Ta ;)

The ETACS control unit is located right up under the dash above the fuse box (inside)

It is located on the section of the fire wall that is horizontal (above it outside would be your wiper arms etc.

Check the boot lock wire as there is a manual disable there. Also ensure you have the factory unit and not aftermarket.

Thanks for that... will have a look.
Is this what the factory unit looks like?
