Hope this is not a sign for Mitsubishi. Damn, if you can't sell a brand new model, I do not know.

Yea must say the 380 looks yummy from the front and side on. . . . . but that arse is just cheep n nasty  , the only one worth mentioning is the VRX and the GT the clear tail lights help it out a wee bit. . . . other than that its pretty tops
looks smaller to me than the magnas even if it really is bigger. . . .

Wasn't going to pipe up, but I may as well...
I recon the back end is all its got going for it! Its different, but sick. Its an original design too, I like it. Front end looks like the newish subi outback, not bad, but not really aggressive at all. Side on, seems to scream camry. Just my opinion...
I'd never buy one because it doesn't come in a wagon... how could you build a model of car and skip the most versatile (and I recon best looking) variation...
Not looking good...

Anyone got any comparison shots of a 380 and a 3rd gen side by side. Numbers are fine but how do they look beside each other.
I went down to the local mits dealer and he didnt have a magna (2nd hand or otherwise) anywhere in the yard. Plenty of 2nd hand lancers but all his magnas had vanished, and I know he had a few. :eh:

id say most private buyers wouldnt run into a dealer when they hear a new model is out and throw money at them.... still early days, if its a success i'd also say they'd go for a wagon, theyre being very cautious.....
gotta love these mitsubishi in aus is gonna die threads, i plan to be working for them in a few years, so they have to stay around.

Yeah, I wouldnt worry either, alot of people to tend to hold back on jumping on a brand new model - history - and logic shows that any inherent problems in a brand new model are in the first off the factory floor - as people take them up, any major issues will be sorted pretty quick - IIRC - didnt the AU falcon have s few "major" probs when initally released, but fixed in later builds?.......many people will be thinking "we'll see how they go, and if they are ok - il get one!"
As many people on here know, I have a strong dislike of the car, for my own personal reasons which I wont cover again - but overall, she is getting a pretty good reception from Mitsu followers, we all just need to do our best to encourage the die hard Bommodore and falcon boat owners to admit that Mitsu have overall better cars!
I say GO THE 380 - for all our sakes! lol
It still amazes me though why they havnt any plans for a wagon - peeps say there no real market for em.....but what a versatile vehicle i think - my KJ is my 3 mitsu wagon - cant beat em for convenience - especially when you have kids - or need to carry alot of gear for work or whatever!

See, I tend to disagree with that first point of yours. I think that in most cases, if a car does not sell well in it's first few months, it will have a struggle on it's hands. A new model should always create a buzz and excitement, and people will buy it, they get caught up in the hype of it all. I think that you will find that most new models have a waiting list in the first few months, yes even Commodore & Falcon. It seems to me that their isn't any really big hype about the new 380, it's an alright car, but it just has caught up too it's competitors, nothing new and exciting. A perfectly good car, but the market requires much more these days. It has to stand out a bit more, get noticed. Mazda is a perfect example.

If you have another read of it to me it sounds like wise business on MMAL's behalf... if no one read the bloody paper, who would know? or really care?... so they are holding back on production to ensure that the quality is up as much as possible... smart approach IMO... I actually think it is the Herald Sun that has put their own level of negative dramatics onto it... as media tend to want to do anyway.
One other thing, the paper says nothing about the cars physical appearance, so why make the point in this thread?, or is it just to kick it in the guts... again? :doubt:
I have said it before... wait till more are out on the road and people take more notice before judging it's life expectancy.

quoting 2nd paragraph from "business daily - herald sun nov 5th"
"only 951 cars were delivered to customers in october, less than half the number needed as an ongoing sales total to keep the company profitable & protect its place as an australian carmaker."
end quote.
Considering the 380 has ONLY been on sale since 14th oct, 951 units to me, it seems good for a new model just released & the 2 teething probs that has occurred (for those on here who say this will be the end of mitsubishi in australia - don't be so ****ing stupid).
this fact that the release date has been left out of the report, i would on say on purpose to make it sound bad when it isn't.
and anyway, remembering the original TE was a slow starter for a couple of months - look at the success it had in the 1st 12 months ( over 40,000 magnas / veradas registered ).

farout, have more faith in mist, and lay off about all the faults etc that have come through, it could, and has happen to other makers that have released new vechicles. like i said before, wait till halfway through next year, then start talking about the fail or sucess
for those on here who say this will be the end of mitsubishi in australia - don't be so ****ing stupid).
 awsome.
