Hey peeps

Looking at doing up the sound system in my VR-X Tj. I've replaced the rears with some cheap pioneer 6x9's and im looking at doing the splits now.

On a tight budget tho so im looking for a good quality speaker in the $150-200 dollar mark, if that is possible.

Ive heard that jaycar are pretty good for there price , i can get those 60Wrms ones for 150 bux, and everyone on here and caa seems to rate them well.

What u guys think? i would buy focal but to dear :(

The new jaycar kevlars are good value, but are sadly lacking a big hole of midbass to my ears. They just don't sound as good as the old ones IMO.

for $200, you have a good selection.

I just purchased a set of Audiobahn coaxial/splits - they can be run as coaxial or as splits. $130 delivered. PM for more details.

Until you can give me an idea on what types of music you like, I can't really offer much more.

Hertz DSK165's are under the $200 mark, ESK165's are about $220. These are a decent quality speaker, ESK's on par with the top of the range pioneers that retail for more like $400.

Vibe Black Hex BH60's come in under $200rrp.

Either of these will give awesome quality sound without breaking the budget.

Also look at JBL & JL at this price point. JBL make some wicked splits at the $200-220 price range.

I've got a set of Hertz ESK-165s. I bought them for $220 about 2 years ago now. They are awesome speakers I couldn't be happier with them reccomend them +++ They are discontinued now but I think you can get the HSK-165s (which are sposed to be better) for under $200.

Why not wait for something to come up 2nd hand?
CAA seems like a gold mine for 2nd hand stuff.

Hate you get your hopes up Mikirus, but Hsk's don't come for less than around $275, unless second hand.

When i was looking for my speakers i heard both esk and hsk, i did think the esk sounded better to me but i liked the power handling of the hsk. IF you dont listen to it as loud i'd say go esk given the chance.

fair enough. yeah they are a ***** to find I had to drive all the way to bloody Bayswater to get mine. But then a year or so later I saw them at autobarn in Eltham. But seeing as your in Brissy this is all pretty irrelivent.
