Automatic transmission works sort of ok until engine starts to warm up.
I have replaced pluse generators A and B. I have tested throttle pedal switch.
Tested pressure control, shift and damper control solenoids for operation. A led test lamp on ECU connector showed code 10 (self diagnosis mode functioning) but no other faults.
I replaced the ECU with another one but still no joy.
Has anyone got any ideas where I should go from here as "She" would like to get her car back.
what does the transmission do? slip gears, go into limp mode?

It changes roughly up to 3rd gear will not go to OD. Then when you stop in traffic decides to take off in second and stays there till you stop engine and maybe let it cool down. Next time it does exactly the same. Does not appear to be slipping but changes are either hard or sluggish.

Transmission fluid has done less that 15,00km and is bright red with no burning or discolour and level is correct.

The O/D does wear out, I wouldnt see that as a problem.
However, from your conditions I would get the Transmission checked out by a pro.
How many K's has the trans done?

hydrolic pressure is low/high causing the stall converter to hold on/slip aswell as bands not functioning properly.

TC is probably right, once the converters go in these things u get all sorts of problems.
another couple of things to consider would be the condition of the actual clutch packs inside the gearbox AND wether or not that box has been overheated or not. overheating it wont necesarily burn the oil out although alot of the electronic circuitry that runs the internal components in the gearbox floats inside the oil itself. these kinds of problems are very common in volkswagen's and wouldnt surprise me if you had the same problem.
your best bet is to get ur self another 2nd hand gearbox for 2 - 300 fux and it will come with the stall converter also.

Sounds exactly the same fault as my TM, pro's have tested it with no fault codes showing.
I'm still driving it have no choice until i save up for repairs. I don't have to wait for cool down, at corners i slip to neutral turn off & restart, get a first gear take off then hard change to limp mode, this happens even if the lever is left in low position.
The Pro' tells me it's a solenoid problem, with no way of telling which one, repair cost start at $300 for 1 up to $800 if all need to be replaced one at a time.
I saving for a s/h box Several weeks ago i did a web search of part recyclers & there were 4 in Melbourne in range $175- 300 + labour.

I was told by a magna mechanic when I had my TN auto problems and it would not go into 4th to turn the OD button off. Dunno if that will help at all.....

The intermittant fault I've mentioned in a previous thread, went permanent a week after my last post, & dumps from first into limp mode at all times, it's no longer heat related. Turning off the OD worked when the fault started but not now.
Fortunately my part of Melbourne is reasonably flat, & travel is now limited to shopping & trip to & from the station.
Selling a ship load on ebay to raise cash, will get there eventually.

I also have a TN magna and it will not go in to O/D insted goes in to neutral, but according to the FSM the End Clutch(the plastic round thing that is located near the drivers side tyre) is what controls the drive to the 4th gear, now i have heard that these can be replaced and they arn't hard to do, but i have to make a few call and keep you informed

I dunno where you live Damien, but Brunswick Mangas have always looked after my Magnas. They seem honest and do a good job. I "retired" my old TN from courier duties 6 months ago and gave the old girl to my brothers GF to drive into the ground. Appart from the Vibration from 4 frogged engine mounts, no AC, leaks from a rusting roof, broken rear whiper switch she reckons it's a great car!
