Hi Dave,
After driving in the T/B and getting used to the loose accelerator (a good thrash around the autokhana tracks are always good) I was looking at the T/B under the hood - and due to the accelerator pedal being loose for the first 50% of throttle - I was looking and thinking - there are two moving parts on the new T/B that move when the cable is tightened (stepping onthe gas) now - the first on that is closest to the firewall that the cable is attached to move about an inch around before the inner one even starts to open the throttle body (I am sure you know all this already - but I am just trying to explain myself).
Due to this - when I had some one step on the gas to the floor (the car was off) the inner rotatin part only moves about 60-70% of it's total movement - which I would assume means the T/B is only opening about 60-70% of it's maximum potential - which I would have thought is robbing me of some more airflow and being at the end of the T/B opening - would be quite a substantial amount.
Anyways - two questions here - is it possible to rig it up so that we remove the slack in cable - so that as soon as you touch the loud pedal you have a throttle response and then we can utilise the full T/B instead of only a portion of it?
And second - if I do this do I run the chance of running lean and detonation??
I would like to adjust the T/B so that throttle response is immediate - not halfway down the go-pedal - but don't want to run the risk of detonation.
Should I wait for the FPR so that I can up the pressure and cancel the risk of lean running??
Is any of this possible?? I like the O/S T/B but I am not overly impressed with knowing I am not using the butterfly to full open and I have lost instand throttle response.
Cheers Dave - apart from that it goes nice and I can't wait o start giving you more money for more parts!!
Wasn't sure if you had seen this on MOGWA - and want an answer. Cheers!!
