Hi

I am wiring up an alarm to a TH 1999 Magna. Have got everything bar the central locking triggers done. From what I gather, the following info should be enough to work it out - but it still aint going :)

On the 16 pin plug of the factory central locking/immobilizer:

Blue/Red = Actuator LOCK power signal
Blue/Black = Actuator UNLOCK power signal

On the 20 pin plug on the same module:

Red/Green and Red/Yellow = lock/unlock trigger
Blue = lock/unlock trigger

From what I can tell, its a +VE trigger, but just can't get it to fire. Anyone else fitted an aftermarkey central locking or alarm kit on top of the factory one?

Be very careful when trying to install an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser to a vehicle already fitted with factory items, apart from having 2 remotes, it is possible (although rare) to "lock" the factory BCM (read: Body Control Module).

if you really need to upgrade the alarm, go to your local autobarn store and ask for a "700t" or for vehicles built after 2003 you will need a "700x" both of which come from the DEI range (hornet, viper etc)

These units are designed to interface with the foacory unti and effectivly ADD the extra alarm componants to the system (e.g. shock sensor, siren etc) and then you only have your standard remote!

I have wired up my aftermarket alarm to my original central locking. When i get home this arvo, i'll have a look at which wires i tapped into. I'm only using 1 remote aswell.

Ok, this is how i wired my car alarm to my central locking.

I assume that you have located your "power door lock control module". From that find the following 2 wires.

Red/Green wire, hook that up to your Neg unlock pulse.

Blue wire, hook that up to your Neg lock pulse.

Hopefully this will help you out.
