What is with that grille, is that painted plastic/metal or a tinted perspex ?
I kinda like it, gives it a stealth look.
But how does she go for cooling ?

Anyway, nice ride mate (you make me jealous).

Oh, and as for the undercar neons, consider LEDs. I'm happy with mine, and I can choose what colour I want.

somehow i dont think so but ok :P

Its got potential...not sure if i like that kit or not.

I have to get my roof lining done soon too, and i want to go black or dark grey but that will mean i will have to paint the A pillars and visor thingies black and not sure if i want to do that

[THUGDOUT]

GRDPuck: Bad... real bad on cooling, its covered up in fibreglass so yeh no air in, and the bodykit doesnt get any air to the radiator

Tim-E: I said u'll think lol, once its ALL done mainly in black leather n stuff, basically yeh im gunna copy a BMW interior and work it into the magna :P

TheVRX: I just got the 3 globes with it all up it was 150 per light incl looms, I have to modify (i.e drill a hole in the indicator for a reverse light aswell) duno how ill do it yet, il lget it around to it lol

Jezza: MAGNAWRECK in Maddington mate, nice guys there

Nice car mate. Black and kit looks shmik.

Add these to the list for me :D

Colour code skirts... Looks in the pics like they're not even painted?!?
Remove front RH mud guard... Hehe, it looks like its been hammered
Polish it... it's not shiny enough.
Get rid of everything that smells of supercheap auto... pew, those mats are off hey

Just my opinion, but hey, looks good and sounds like it's going to get better.
We can all go "aw noice" in a real highpitched voice now.

Jokin about the polish too...

edit- have to say too that a car in black with leather or even just neat black trim looks so good. Mafia style or something. I like your style.

[THUGDOUT]
11-11-2005, 06:33 AM
lo yeh mate, not colour coded

but that will get done when i get bodykit repsrayed (well sides n rear) or until i get a full respray (some cracking paint on the roof, would really love a new bonnet and get the bodykt done, might aswell get them whole car done!)

its has no mudguards?

and its been claybarred, polished, waxed since those photo's so its shinier now, but i need to hit it with a polisher coz i cant get the paint good by hand, its just too far gone, so expect a whole load of shine!

that exactly the interior im going for neat tidy and stock looking, dont want any wild colours or anything (like all the red)

have a look at those steering wheel wraps that anthony sells, ony 110 bucks (or thereabouts) and easy to do yourself...comes up a treat. Unless you wanna go down the pro done path i spose, if you wanna DIY, theyre awesome. Love mine

lol im gunna go more chrome that WTCHME and EGO, plus im cooler anyways

The parabolics arent sealed properly so water has got in and black plastic is more grey now and the lenses need a good ol clean, so i shall be taking them apart and whilst apart i might put angel eyes in

thought about steering wheel and stitching it myself, ill see how much it is to get done in perth, if its cheaper all up (and i can be bothered) ill DIY it

Anyways i prolly wont be here for a week, coz moving house n wont have net for a week so when i come back there should be plenty of photos :)

Hey guys, finally got the net back so time to update this

today ill get new tyres on my rims and the rims go back on the car! yay, will make the exterior nearly complete (colour coding is needed, but im running out of time and i AM out of money to get it done by christmas)

Still waiting on my KJ grill, need to order carpets still  but i have pulled out pretty much the whole interior and painted all the lighter grey parts to satin black and some red parts are now black too (tho jury is still out on that, looks too... painted, not very natural, might just have to do some home trimming job on those parts)

Working out best way of wiring up my KJ rear lights

Should be getting amp this weekend, penidng how much money i have (i really need a credit card!) and start on my install

Oh finally got my manual license now! i can drive the car legally... i rock!

ill get pics tommoz when rims are on :D

as for the para's i cant outlay that much money, i think with a little effort the paras will come up fine, hten maybe get 2 peice paras (much prefer them actually, 1 peice look funny on a magna, dunno why)

take it down to the wreckers and trade it in. u might not have to pay nething or worst cums to worst $50 or so coz 1 piece are expensive aswell.

wats gonna be chrome in ur interior. go with that suede stuff for the roof lining or for seet. will look nice. unless u have leather then leave it as it is. o and get sunroof :D

benny_TE
13-12-2005, 09:45 PM
just sand down your lights, (water and sandpaper of course ) , then cut it back with a compounding agent (anything that you would use to cut back paint), and it should come up clear again. Also, using a buff will greatly add to the benefit of this.

Hope it turns out well !

if itwas that easy mate lol i acutalyl gotta find a wreckers with 2 peice paras

i was amazed when i found the KJ rada, tho is front end was all smushed up the rear was still fine and that how i got my lights :D otherwise i woulda told ppl that there was para's down there

i got a chrome guage surround bezel, gunna get chrome door handles, and prolly black/chrome gear knob, chrome ring around speaker grills andndddd, whatever else i can think to chrome, but that wont be for awhile or until i find a person who chromes **** in perth

as for roof liner, it will be done in black suede/suede like fabric, seats will be done in leather (middle panels will be perforated leather) only problem is now im thinking of going a light colour onthe interior (2 tone, black/buttermilk for the interior), but this prolly wont be for another six months anyways til i still get seats done

u can pay for a sunroof if u want :D i only work a KFC dammit im not made of money

Project is going slow now, ive run out of money, since u last saw, upgraded interior abit but ive got to rethink it because the vinyl dye is doing as good of a job as i had hoped... time to learn how to trim with real material :D

Car was in Motorvation (big perth car show) got alot of comments, got a bit of laughter at the pod scoop coz it doesnt do anything

Also cleaned up the paras, This is the reason you do not use cheap sh/tty blue bulbs

i would liek THUGDOUT, but wlecome to key city lol

the Bodykit is a custom job done by Fibrevision, as for cost i was told aroudn the 3000-3500 mark

the front grill was THERE but just all covered up so no air could get in, since changed it and now the car is fine and doesnt over heat (just a tad when im giving it ****, but nuthing to get worried about)

the scooop... well ye hthe scoop has no point just too look pretty, i will get rid of it when i can afford a new bonnet and a spray

im pretty sure the scoop works........if you go in reverse down a hill, fast enought to force air in, and as long as the scoop goes somewhere (other than the battery)

turn the scoop around so it actually does something

get an EZBoy pod box and add some moulding to it so when the bonnet shuts it forms a tightish seal agants the box.

then u have a sic pod box with a sorta ram air effect

yah, it would work if i fliped it around, but i cbf, i dont want any scoops on my bonnet :P im not gonig for a racer look with this car, im going for the pimp look

What you need is GREEN globes. I kid you not.

tried it today. doesnt work.

I cant see how a lot of you guys think that duct/vent/scoop doesnt work... Its a cowl, simple as that, its not designed to force air INTO the engine bay but rather suck the hot air out.

The air travelling over the bonnet creates a vacuum to which the hot air under the bonnet is drawn to.

With a CAI and a cowl vent it should be very efficent bringing in colder air from the bottom of the car and forcing the hot air to be sucked out of the top.

or am i talking ass backwards?

Haha, same wheels as me!! Looks good in black and the bodykit and everything, i really like it, i'm so glad you changed that grill it was the most pointless thing someone could have done to a car. Anyway can't wait to see it all finished with the stuff you listed, it'll be even more P.I.M.P :)

i should prolly update the progress of the car

well, ive quit my job at KFC coz not enuff money, just got a new job with more money (ontop of still working at KFC tho, they wouldnt let me leave)

as for the car? only thing i have done is put my headunit n speakers into it, sprayed the bodykit parts that were white in the wheel arch and put on my rada grill

next thing now is respraying/repairing the bodykit, i was washing the car one day and a big patch of clear coat came off the front bar (and i wasnt using a high pressure hose, its the reason wy i dont use a high pressure hows to clean the car!) :( starting to happen on the rear now aswell, so ill get the kit resprayed and the grey door moulding done at the same time, which has made me put off doing my boot install for awhile :(

pics, last pic is a pic of the clear coat, its got bigger now

Just one question THUGDOUT, how hard was the install for the tail lights? Is their much modification required for them to fit?

It looks like the body kit wasn't rubbed properly or the black paint was let get to dry before the clear was applied.

The black (or any for that fact) base coat needs to still be "wet" when the top clear coat is applied. If it is to dry then there is no adhesion for the clear coat and the result is what appears to be in your photo's.

I would say that if you were to get a compressor and blow across the bumper bar with compressed air the clear would come off in big sheets.

Probably not what you want to hear, but make sure all yes ALL of the clear is removed before you repaint the body kit, or all of your hard spent money on the new paint will go down the drain as it also flakes off. I would say that this problem may be linked to your entire body kit.

It is also a problem if there is to much base colour material on the car. Like when somebody says they had 10 coats of colour and 20 of clear. Appart from the fact they are probably full of S***, they may encounter similar problems to your body kit.

cheers Steve_R explans it abit better and yeh, its atleast the front n rear bar that need to be done, but i need to get skirts done anyways coz they both have scratches in them, basically i want the car resprayed but i wont have enuff money for that for awhile so its just gonna have to be the bodykit

Theres a couple more air pockets in the front bar, looks lke from stone chips then air has got in, then the hose just finished it off. Rear bar isnt anywhere was bad (mainly for the fact its not getting hammered by wind!) but its starting to come off anyways, the bar needs to be fg'ed,bogged n sanded back in some parts, but im doing that work with a mate. Then ill get it all sprayed

just annoyed about this coz its gunna put my audio and interior wayyy back behind schedule! im sick of red carpets! plus i wanna put my subs in the car :(

Steve

Just make sure you don't cut corners with it. That would probably be what was done last time and now you have to unfortunately pay the price.

Red carpets - I laugh every time I see them.

yeh i just put some 6x9's in the other week, cheap Pioneer ones that i got for $85on special from JB HiFi, they do the job with keeping up with the front splits coz the stock ones couldnt.

http://members.iinet.com.au/~simonrod/Magna/6x9.jpg

You may ask "But why Simon?!? you have 2 sweet Type R's that still havent been put in yet!"

I have a new job that requires me to use my boot and i cant put my subs in for now, but im looking at getting a ute shortly so then i will be able to put the subs in, But for now im saving up for a respray of basically the bottom half of the car coz the peeling clear coat and grey door moulding and really starting to annoy me

apart form that nothing much has been going on, cept now its a workhorse and im putting more KM's on it

why dont u use the other magna?

[THUGDOUT]
02-06-2006, 10:05 PM
keeping KM's down on that for selling and i dont wanna mess up the car (parking at worksites and laoding ur car full of tools isnt the best thing for ur pride n joy), plus i gotta put the interior back together before i drive it, im just lazy lol

when i sell the other magna it will pay for a ute and some left over for me (well for my loan) so then my TJ can stay at home and i can pissfart around with it

As alot of you know, I dented my boot a few weeks back, ontop of that my car was keyed last week (not huge but down to primer on a door) and the peeling clear coat is getting worse (front bar and rear bar) So today i thought i would cheer myself up, and went n bought myself a KJ Rada Boot lid

Here are the pics of dents, they dont really come up that well in the pictures but it looks worse then the pics

http://members.iinet.com.au/~simonrod/Magna/dent1.jpg
http://members.iinet.com.au/~simonrod/Magna/dent2.jpg

I'm no expert but it doesnt look like it would be cheap to panel beat purely on the fact that both indents are all dented in and trying to get it right again would be hard. It's also an excuse for me to get the rada boot.

http://members.iinet.com.au/~simonrod/Magna/kj-boot.jpg

Its got no rust or dents so i'm quite happy, was abit more expensive as i had hoped but it was either this or buying new from mitsu, i think we all know which was the cheaper option

But now the magna project stops for awhile, as with the new job means more money (also working longer) and more money doesnt = more mods, more money = paying off the car quicker. I also need to sell my old car but i gotta buy parts for that and then i gotta buy a new car (hilux or triton ute) for work mainly but also i can take this one off road and still have something to drive.

Next time u see me post in this thread the car *SHOULD* have a whole load of spray painting done to it (if the price is right ill get the WHOLE car resprayed) then AFAIC the exterior is finish for awhile and then its onto doing the audio/interior

Cars cost too much :doubt: atleast they are cheaper then women :bowrofl:
