ok im selling my car soon, and fixing it up a bit. Whats a relitivly cheap way to repair this damage with getting the entire panel resprayed? ive got a little tin of paint i had colour coded, not sure how to properly apply that without making it look any worse than it alredy is.

stupid question, is that really sun damage??
cuz the roof is just in one spot...

but for a start, maybe you have to rub out the blue short white shirt back ground on the car lol J/K!

serious note: is it an expensive job to do by a painter? maybe money worthed?

From what i can see mate, respray all the way. it'll need to be blended coz the paints faded over the years.

The older magnas tend to do that, just starts off as a little spot exactly where mine is, thgen spreads over the boot/top/bonnet.

yeah, respray!

it would be hard to match coz the paint's faded everywhere anyway.

i like the mannaquin or whatever they're called in the background. is it a man or woman one? does it have nipples?

Does that not also come from over cut & polishing from a buffer ?

the reason this happens, when the Gen2 magnas came out they were on of very few australian made cars that actually had metallic paint with clear coat. As people were retards, they regularly cut and polished their cars, removing all the clear coat. So with the sun shining on the car for half of its life the paint fades alot faster, mine was alot worse than that, i resprayed my whole roof.

One of the many reasons I stick to enamel colours. :D

So true, i never cut and polish. The only time i used it was to get the black sideswipe mark i recieved from a VL commo. Other than that, i regularly use Meguires Wax! Everything slides off, even birds when going up the Hume!

Red pigments aren't very stable under UV. Sorry. Protect with shade and lots of wax.

Respray is the ONLY cure worth doing. Wet sanding etc does not help.

ok guys thanks.
I was thinking... ive got a little bit of paint matched up to the colour of my car, rekon if i dabbed a bit of that on, then sanded it back a little, then used some clear gloss spray over the top? would that be even a temporary solution? for just that little area.

Reason is, im getting rid of this car soon. need money.
