No, I didn't trade in the T, but purchased a 380VRX for the missus..
Picked it up today....

All in all , excellent value for money, nice interior, and goes well for a NA V6..

One thing I don't like is the ride height. Still too much gap between the wheel arch and actual tyre. Anyone know a good (reasonably priced) place that can lower it with new springs? (preferably either Northern suburbs Melb, or South Eastern Suburbs Melb..)
Tyres and wheels are the stock 17" VRX ones, so I think I will see how I go with 1" lower..

I have an RR G-tech so i will give the VRX a run and post graphs after a few more k's are added to the odometer.

Congratulations on your new purchase cut snake, hope you and your wife enjoy it, did you get an Auto or a Manual? and what colour is it?.

It will prob take a few K's for the engine to wear in, and get the most performance out of it. Will be intresting to see what your G-tech claims for acceleration and speed, although I have heard off those devices being out a fair bit.

Thanks Aspec, It's an Auto (the damn manual gear selection gate is opposite to the Ford  ) The colour is the bright blue one, I can't remember its fancy name..

I can tell you that the Gtech is actually fairly accurate, I have the fancy ones with PC connection for many graph outputs, including 1/4 mile, 0-100, HP, Torque, RPM vs Speed mapping...etc. I have had the T on a dyno and the figure from the Gtech was pretty close.

Thanks Again.

You will have to get custom springs made mate.

I doubt anyone out there has made springs for them yet.

Not bad, "Electro" is the colour name lol , So what kind of times does the G-tech pull in the T?, if you dont mind me asking. Yep the sequential gate is different ahaha, For some reason I enjoy the Auto in the 380 more then the manual, but the manual will always be better for "spirited" driving, but the Auto is great for just cruising.

EDIT : I know DEANO, on the forums was looking into lowered springs for the 380, Maybe if you PM DEANO, he might be able to give you an idea, last time I talked with him, He was pretty sure that he could find a pair that would suit.

Electro...thats it..

The dealer who sold me the car says that he knows a place that can do springs for around $300 fitted? I'll have to call him Monday...

Re the T....times depend on which map I have loaded. The T is stock except for the edit (including stock injectors, intercooler...etc.) I am pretty much at the limit of the injectors with my aggressive map. To give you an idea of times:-
Factory map - Low14's sec's - Best was a 13.9 i think?
Aggressive Map - Flat 13, but should be good for a 12.8-9 with a good launch.

btw...last week I did a 13.3....because I left TC on

those xr6T's are the best platform for a nice healthy powerhouse, ive seen alot of guys get some quite decent power out of them.

if your looking for some custom springs, go and see allsprings in moorebank (theyre in sydney) tell them what you are after and they should be able to fix you up. just give them a ring before you make the trip up to make sure that they have the specs for the 380 in the spring bender.

Pedders claim to be the first to have suitable 380 springs...

I have been quoted $600 fitted inc 4 wheel alligment (drops the rear about 1.5" and the front about 1.75")...

How does this price compare to others??

Their web site has this photo posted..

haha! You could be the first 380 modder to swap the 'next gear'/'previous gear' switches around :P Bloody easy to do, but I doubt you'll be doing that since that will most likely void the warranty.

WOW, The stance on that 380 is very nice, Looks Awesome lowered, Is just me or does the rear end look better with it being lowered, it looks like they've made the stance more neutral ?.

would a 380T have anything on your XR6T? :)
cause you cant really compare a N/A car to a forced induction car.
thats IF you were relating to the perforamance side

Not talking about performance :)

Talking about technology, handling, interior.. (all personal preferences of course)

After seeing that lowered VRX I'm warming even more to the 380... Add a Sprintex blower to it and I'll trade my XR6T for one. At least its built properly!

Tyres and wheels are the stock 17" VRX ones, so I think I will see how I go with 1" lower..

I say lower it two inchs if you are gunna do it.. one inch is mearly a wash of 25mm...:P

They are rather high standard so 2 inchs wont be to much.. anymore that 2 and it all depends on your driving..:)

Their web site has this photo posted..I can get pedders springs put in for $400 with wheel alignmet. pedders have always been rip offs when installing spring/shock what ever on the car. Try bobjane or some tyre places see what price you can get.

I think it has something to do with some failed attempts to paste an image.....

btw...the vrx is going well.........boy it's a smooth and quiet vehicle.
Now done approx 4500 k's so its probably time to do a Gtech run...

Might try one tonight

Nice, did you notice, or get an impression of the Engine getting a bit more poke, and loosening up, after putting some K's on it?.
