Bought a bare 3L 24v long motor yesterday! :dancin:

The reasons are:

1) Need a 3rd gen motor for making headers
2) No 3L specific headers avail
3) The heads fit the 3.5L
4) I wanted a pair of 3L cams to send with my 3.5L cams to Wade Cams
5) I wanted Dad to look over it and see where it can be tinkered
6) I want to experiment with the mounting of a centrifugal supercharger
7) And so on and so forth.

Within seconds of removing the front tappet cover Dad was exploding at the seems with info on old tricks and techniques from the V8 and speedway days...

This is gunna be lots of fun!

Are you going to get different cams made up, or you just want to compare the diffbetween the 2?

Bit of both. I'd like to see what Wade can do with them. They maybe able to source a billet common to another popular cam. I'd like to know if they can be built up and reground too.

Can I say YAY, YAY and YAY. Does this mean the extractors are not far away?

Kewl. I'd love to be able to do that kind of stuff hey... makes me wonder why I'm doing civil engineering :doubt: and not mech. Just finished a hydraulics unit, one component of which is thermofluids. The dudes doing mech component of this get to analyse motors, performance, efficiency... and forced induction... so jealous.

Anyway, I'd really like to see what you can come up with regarding a centrifugal SC. Any ideas as yet?

I'm interested to see how this Super Charger kit comes along...

I think he should open a busines, EZ Magna Mods (EMM), he would ship products around the world!

not being negetive, but some of those "old tricks" might not work/will have a negetive effect on a 6G motor.

When we built our three motors one thing dallas and i found out that some of the "f off that wont work" infact did work much more efficiently and with more gains then we were willing to accept!! - apposed to "i know if we do this like they do in the ol' 5L then such and such..." you get my point.

the 6G motors are UNBREAKABLE (3.0L only) so be prepaired to drive it hard or you wont get any results that havent already been uncovered

ummm, no, i'd rather be doing limit state design stuff on concrete columns, slabs n stuff...

*** the mech and electric guys, they're still doing maths units!!!
