Just bought some Philips H4 BlueVision 60/55W Globes for my TL. Yes i have read the headlamp faq. My question is does anybody have these on their tl and what are they like. also do the park globes that come with it fit into the TL. And whats the preqautions for installation. Not to touch the globe its self or? What to use, rubber gloves??

Cheers

How much you pay for them?
Oh do give us some pics on how they look at night, cheers! Check the type of parker lights for your TL before you start, its a pain to remove things to put in a glob, so do it all in one shot.

Cheers!

yeah never touch the glass with your fingers in a haligen type globe, the oils in your skin makes the glass fragile when hot and can cause it to crack. Not something you want to happpen to your nice new globes.

Get ready for lots of fun! The left globe is a real pain as you have to take the wheel off and take the wheel arch liner out and then fiddle to get the globe out without seeing it. The blueish bulbs do look a lot better though. I am considering going down the projector/xenon route soon though, it would look so good.

ok just attempted to replace the left hand side one. after removing the wiper washer tank and horn assembly now this is where it gets stupid. dumbest retaining system i have ever seen. you cannot see anything at all. only have to go by feeel. really stupid...
couldnt get the assembly out all the way cause cannot see what the hell is holding it. and now i cannot even put the it back in properly cause cannot see how to mount the holding wire properly. whats a f'in dumb design...

Look at the manual, it goes through the procedure.

yeh i followed it. removing the water container and horn assembly as it says no worries there at all...

says to push the wire thing forward then down to release the assembly.. no worries there either. i do as it says and the assembly becomes loose... and i reattach it no problems at all and repeat the process.

BUT once i get it lose i cannot get it out!! on the opposite side of where you push the wire it seems like wire is attached to something and i cant get it come lose so it can come out....

Theres a metal ring around the back of the bulb that you have to squeeze together to get it to release. And yes its a major pain in the ass. Sorry I dont have photos. ut the ring around the globe is the same as any other magna so maybe someone else does.

just dont do what i did and break the thing that holds the wire ring in that inturn holds your bulb in.. it bent it too far the wrong way and becuase it is held in with little plastic clips, they broke.. so the it is just sitting under the screw that was on top of the clips and seems to hold in place ok.. but  magnas headlight globes are rediculous to change.. not as easy as the lancer i had.. there was enough room to swing a cat around in the engine bay and nothing had to come out to get to the back of the head lights...

best thing to do is if you get them in, next time your car gets serviced, get them to check them or put them in for ya.. thats what i did!! much easier and if they break something, they have to fix it :D

*edit.. bluevisions are pretty good, i had them in the lancer, but i have the vision plus' in the magna coz of the ghey parabolic beam pattern :doubt: .. need the most amount of light on the road as possible

This metal ring is this separate from that wire you have to push.

not that i know of.. its all the one thing, if its the same one im thinking of.. the wire ring that latches over the bulb to hold it in the socket is all one piece.. goes from one side of the bulb, loops around to the other where it clips under a little plastic clip (or may be metal)

this is exactly where i get stuck. i unclip one side of that ring. the other simply stays stuck which unallows me to pull the assembly out. and i cannot see enough to figure out how exactly is it un hooked. i try pulling and turning and twisting, but if u yank on it hard enough i think whatever the hell is holding it will simply break ... i swear about 10 times i thought the actual globe will fall out of its slot and straight into the headlight.... then id really be in deep horse manure.

i have a TJ and i recently bought H4 bluevisions. i bought the highbeam/parker set for $59 and then each low beam was $25 a side....so i paid $110 for low/high/parker.

the guy at autobarn fit them for me...did a great job and didnt take long at all..maybe 30mins in the carpark. after one low beam put in...there is a massive difference...no more orangish light...pure white basically. The BlueVision are full approved and legal ALTHOUGH: the crystalvision and diamondvision are ILLEGAL and most definetly not safe for road use....they are more a wank factor (hence why pete has them on his red vrx- jokes mate :P)

So are these better and clearer in your opinion? I have tried those lousy HID ones and they were crap, ended up trying to look harder on the road and they werent that great at all.

Well at least now i know theyre legal and i can go ahead and spend the rest of my day trying to slot them in. i love the car but i had no idea things were this hard to replace.

Its a nice car the TL, I drove one before and has inspired me to get a Magna in the end. I probably change to a TL or TW down the road when I got the cash.
Take your time with the globs etc...make sure you got the whole day for it. The first time I tried changing my parkers were so difficult that it took over an hour just to do one. Looking back I should have remove the whole headlight unit.

Keep us updated, and post some night pics when you are done, I am curious to see how nice or good are these.

Cheers!

OK A positive update.
Just completed the job. Figured it out. Took me about 2 hours for both of them. And i took a crapload of photos of the whole process which i can upload and post if anybody wishes to see.
I compared the original and the new BlueVisione ones as i was swapping them today and even in bright sun light it is clearly visible how much whiter and brighter the new ones are. So i cant wait till nighttime now to see the real difference.

Cheers

Changing the bulbs on the te is easy as! i thought that would be something a car maker thinks about, so if i am in the middle of nowhere and a blub blows, i can just buy one from a service station and put it in within 5 mins... removing the wheel though to change a bulb, that sounds a bit silly... there has to be another way...

hmmmm
well nick! i have diamond visions because i had blue visions before and i personally thought the normal yellow orange whatever normal colour ones put out better light and as i do mainly night time driving and alot of long distance driving this is what suits me
and i think the diamond vision globes are def well worth it as they are a more white lite rather than blue light like the blue vision ones.

but these diamond ones damn they are def worth it.
especially with the para's but yeh im with u they are def a ***** to change
and from future i think ill just let mitsubishi do it or a fellow member of qmd

im currently working on posting some photos...

and... the process of taking the wheel, washer bottle, horn, etc... is in the official manual so i guessing it is the easiest way. well the drivers side one really isnt all that hard. probably takes 5 - 10 minutes to get to the globe... and this is where all the fun begins :)

but i reckoin now that ive figured it out, it wouldnt take much time at all
