G’day all,

Just another little niggly question from the one and only Axle

My question this time, with the radiator, where does most of the airflow come from? Is it the vents between both the lights or is it down below the numberplate with the vents on the bumper?

Reason why I am interested to know this, I did enquire about a set of driving lights (see my previous posts) and being rather large they take up roughly a 1/4 of the upper air vents on either side. The person who I enquired to shows concern that (without knowing how they’re mounted and how much of the air vent is interfered with) the engine may overheat due to a lack of airflow to the radiator. :(

So my other question is, do you guys think they would really interfere with engine temperature in normal driving around town and up to 80-100+ km/h? and would it be enough to actually overheat the engine or just make it run a little warmer in summer?

Many thanks in advance

the car has thermo fans dont it?
thermo fans switch on when the car heats up too much, because of lack of airflow, or temperature. U'll notice they dont really turn on when yur driving more so when u've stopped.
I cant imagine spotties, restricting too much airflow, it should be fine.

i dont see a problem

a lot of magnas/falcons/commodores have got motha fu-- of spotties and if they caused problems, im sure people would start making new brackets to hold them somewhere else..

im sure youd be fine :)
