well it isnt exactly your typical taxi that you see every day unlike the EL and AU falcons.. ive seen a few cool taxis like camry sportivos and xr6's etc.. and the silver service's caprices and LTD's..

oh, and this thread it worthless without pics :P

well it's barely been out a month, and i'd never expect to see a 380 vrx taxi flying around in adelaide, have seen some ba xr6's but that's ford.

Isnt the VR-X a little too good to use as a taxi.

But hey if it's taxi then they must have put a gas kit on it, would be aftermarket i guess.

it's a bit hard to snap up pics when you're doing 70 k's an hour

It would be a good long term test for the 380????

All the stop starting city traffic.

i've also seen a silver GT/VRX 380 Taxi around adelaide. i can't remember what company it was, but i'm guessing MMAL have offered a decent discount on fleet buyers (seeing they buy about 70% of all new cars in australia) so i wouldnt mind betting theres a few more going around

If you want to hear something really cool a good mate of mine who works for Ford was telling me about 2 XR6 turbo taxis that Ford had running around doing high milage accumilation. They were complete with luxury vinyl interiors, 17 inch alloys and yellow duco! Ford paid for the fuel and running costs and they get some good data on stop start/ high temp city running. :gtfo:

There's also a couple of V8 Holdens being used as taxis around either Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

a bit of a waste of money if you're using it as a taxi, but judging how some taxi drivers drive, the VRX seems to be a pretty good choice!

btw, i've also seen XR6 taxi's (not the BA, but an AU).

yeh Redav, i got a cab ride in a V8 Fairlane a while ago. As soon as i got in and he took off i go "wtf, is this a V8?"
It was, and apparently the only V8 in the whole fleet (was silver service i think).

Does this mean that its on Gas?

Would be interesting to see how it performs on gas, didn't take long for someone to come out with a conversion kit!

I was driving behind a white 380 GT Suburban Gold taxi down south road last week. I mentioned it in the spotted thread in the SA section.

Kind of funny actually. Seen 3 380's in the matter of 10 minutes. One was a base model (with the hubcaps) along Hindley Street (I was driving around 10pm) which was silver. At the lights I say a dark grey colour GT and I was like fck they look amazing on the road so much presence compared with the magna. And before I knew it I turned left onto West Terrace and next to me at the lights was a white 380 GT taxi. At first I was like WTF, kind of seemed strange that a taxi driver would by a gt, but becos vrx and GT look so nice I cannot blame him. This has to be the hottest looking Australian car on the road; especially against the commodore (what can I say about the interior? excessive use of pov looking plastic).

And for once mitsu also has the interior perfect... it is like mazda 6 cross audi cross mitsu but also very more original.... i luv it

I was just about to ask that. Apparently there's a gas option coming soon (for a few thousand, the price was leaked to the media) but I've heard nothing else on that.
