The offset is way out...They'll stick way out. No spacer is going to help that

There's plenty of rims out there that will fit Magna's. You can fit 3rd gen rims onto 2nd gens. Their PCD and offset is exactly the same. I've got 3rd gen series II VRX rims on my TR at the moment.
So don't feel you're really limited as 3rd gens have become popular cars to put rims on

Don't have the dosh for new mags.
Don't have the dosh for new mags. Commodores use different PCD, the circle formed by joining the bolt holes is bigger. Spacers are
also illegal for road use and are used when the spigot diameter (hub diameter) of the wheel is
bigger than that of the car.

I saw 15" rims on a TS magna this afternoon at the wreckers and they were alloy as well but they looked very dirty I forgot to ask how much they wanted for them they might need a spray of rim paint on them thou.

nothing a bit of elbow grease and metal polish wont bring back to new!
Cab Sav - id say something along the line of 12 slotters, to continue the aussie theme of your car lol
why dont you post up a side pic of your car (high res) and some rims which you wouldnt mind getting, and members of the AMC public can photoshop them on for you?
As I mentioned numerous times before, there are 3 things to consider when fitting wheels:
1. PCD, pitch circle diameter, the diameter of the circle formed when you join the bolt holes to
form a circle. Its easy to calculate for 4 stud wheels, its the distance between the centre of two
diagonolly opposite bolt holes.
2. Spigot diameter, the diameter of the centre hole. This is important and needs to be a snug fit
as this is the load bearer. The bolts are not designed to bear weight. Trust me, a friend of mine
had a set of alloys fitted to his mondeo by some dodgy company and on a trip from Melbourne
to Adelaide, towing a small trailer, two bolts from each of the rear wheels sheered off. One from
each of the front wheels also sheered off. Spacer rings can be used but they are illegal.
3. Offset, the distance from the mounting face to the centre of the wheel.46+ means the
mounting face is 46mm from the centre towards the outside of the wheel. 46- means the
mounting face is 46mm from the centre towards the inside of the wheel. Legally, offsets can't
be changed by more than 25mm (1") as it affects handling dynamics. Too far in/out and it puts
undue stress on the suspension components. Spacer plates can be used if the wheels offset
say is not positive enough to too negative but again, they are illegal as it shifts the whole wheel.
