Hey guys, i need some help. Yesterday i took my 2003 tj awd into autobarn to get them to take apart my center console so i could paint it(an air freshener leaked and stained the plastic) they did the job, i painted the console, they put it back in. but the stereo started playing without the security code being put in. it would play for a couple of mins then demand the code. it wouldnt allow me to put the code in( no response from thenumber buttons). so i disconected the battery and thought i woulg try again. it did the same thing but now on my trip comp it flashes 4d. now to make things worse my owners manual has vanished. i was just wondering if you guys had any ideas before i take it into mitsu tomorrow?

You will need your owners manual, if you can not find then the dealer is the only thing.
As for radio - you need to find out code. Call any dealer and they help you over phone as soon as you can proove that you an owner.
As for trip conputer - procedure described in manual. If you still have problem to find one, post again and I look at mine. Basically it required to press mode button 3 times.

Thanks guys, mitsu fixed it this morning, they said the guy at autobarn knocked some of the wires loose. They had to reset the ecu, but they did it for free. God knows where my manual got to. Thanks again.

Autobarn paid me the same courtesy too :doubt:
You can reset your own ecu by disconnecting the battery for 2mins than reconnecting. Trip computer needs to know what type of car and motor it's controlling and do the radio code. That's it really.
