After nearly twelve months of driving around in "limp home mode" I finaly had the Trans looked at today, and all I needed was new bloody computer. God it is so different having first gear. Now all I need to do is is replace the belts on her. Heh thay said they needed urgently replacing when I bought her nearly four years ago, Man, am I slack or what

LoL that's slack, I'm keeping my fingers crossed nothing goes wrong before you get them changed :)

Have you had the timing chain done too? How many kms have you done?

Cars done just under 230 000 Ks and the timing belt is the next thing to be done (I hope) The other belts are for air con, alt, waterpump. From what I have seen I wouldn't even attempt to work on my own trans. I used to clean and kit out powerglides for my HR years ago...but now....too much to go wrong. I've found that the average price to recon the Trans is anywhere from 1300 to 1700 dollars

For starters there are no belts in the man trans.
The Mitsu one is not that difficult if you have played wity transmissions before. If ony dong the adjustment just folow the workshp manual, if you do decide to replace them best get it done.

You know, even I thought I would have changed the engine belts and replaced the timing belt by now. Well I guessed wrong. I am pretty sure the place I had the brakes and Trans computer done at ripped me off and I am damm sure the Authorised Dealer is not worth a pinch of salt. The guy I had lined up to do the timing belt got caught having an affair and left the state. I work 12 hours a day. I have a young family. I am easily distracted...ohh pretty lights.....ahem! Those are just a few of my excuses :) Anyway before my car falls down and goes boom I would like to know if anyone in Adelaide could reccomend someone who is reliable but reasonably cheap? I think I have asked this before but as stated above, I have a short attention span. Any help appreciated

What is it with White KR Verada owners and trying to hold out on maintainance until something goes boom?
