Well iv had the car slipping into neutral when it trys to hit 4th gear with the o/d left on,

i used to be able to get away with this by leaving od off and then once i hit 80k's switch it on and itd be fine now it wont go into 4th at all.

Iv heard something about o/d bands wearing out could this be it or has my gearbox had it.

Im looking to get a new car within the next 2 months and really need the car running to sell it off.

so yeah has anyone had this problem and got it fixed if so wat was done and how much?

anyone know some good tranny places round vic ?

Hello,

My O/D does not work, it only rev's out when I leave it on, but all my gears work fine so its not a big concern.

I'm pritty sure the bands do wear out, but have been rang around and to get a fix is around the $400 for the band replaced/repaired.

I'd suggest ringing some auto trans places

good luck with it

Drive on the highway :D.
Yeh i'd say OD clutch, or a band, either way labour is gonna be the killer, if you know someone who will do mates rates, will be much much cheaper.
