just a quick question,
i have done a search on this, but i didnt find a definate answer...

basically. i am trying to install a HUD to a certain ralliart...

having never dug around in a magna, i have no idea which one the tacho wire is...

so.. um yer.. which one is it? and what is the best way of identifying it?

Dunno if they entirely changed it, but in firsts, and the one or two second gens I've seen, it's the only shielded cable.

HUD= Heads Up Display Tachometre

Its this cool uber ricey thing we want to put in, ANY help identifying the right one would be awesome

as i dont want gav mucking about with the electrics as stage one of the rally is tomorrow morning, and prelude is today

need it to run smooth

i have installed a tacho in my third gen. wat car is it for. if its a 3rd gen its the whit wire in the loom.

take out the insturment cluster and then disconnect the loom from the back. look for a white wire. thats the factory tacho wire. o and it will be a good idea to disconnect ur battery coz i had to learn it the hard way. when i was doin mine there was a small short which ****ed up my speedo sensor. so make sure u disconnect ur battery.

no trav i didnt edit it... your just lame.

ashneel, is it the only white wire? is it plain white, and what side of the plug is it closest to? i really dont want to screw this up...

i dont know about you guys, but i would put it on the negative coil wire....

yes its the only white wire. its kinda to the bottom left but not sure. u cant go wrong. its the only white wire.

TC, i dont want to have to find a hole in teh firewall... im lookin for an in cab wire to attach to.

u dun have to look for a hole in the fire wall. the white wire is part of the loom that conects to the instrument cluster. if u want ill undo mine and take a pic of the wire but it will be after work so aroun 5ish.
