gday guys. I'm currently thinking about saving up for an upgade on the car front to a V6. The 2nd gen 4cyl just doesn't cut it. So i was thinking about getting a 3rd gen V6 over a 2nd gen,cos they are so closely priced and the 3rd gens look sooo much better. I'd also heard that there was a possibility of putting in a 3L MIVEC into one. :D

From what I could gather in searches the MIVEC only came out with a tiptronic auto so if I were to get a TE/F I would need to also get the gearbox with it, cos to use either the normal auto or the manual would require an aftermarket ECU. Would this just be a bolt in jobbie or would there have to be some welding etc that would require an engineering certificate?

I also gather that the MIVECS can only be imported and that I could get them from NZ or Japan as a front cut. But I'm not sure about what car they come in.

As I'm currently at uni this project would go over a year or two. $$ don't come in all too quickly  . But if anyone could help me out with any info that'd be great.

Cheers guys

also i was thinking of doing this myself (Dad's a mechanic so i have access to a winch, pit, tools etc) and I was wondering how all the other stuff, air con, tranny cooler, exhaust manifold etc would fit in?
ie could the MIVEC exhaust manifold be used or would a custom set of extractors be needed.

Speak to Mitsiman and meansolara. Oh, he was selling his Mivec converted car but don't know what happened to it.
