hey guys and gals,
just wondering what can cause a miss in engines, i have TR 2.6efi, i have been told it could be plugs or leads or the tuning of engine, any other possibilites??
also just wondering what the timing on these engines can go to, im up round the 20 degree mark at the moment, the car runs so much better with timing up
cheers paddles

I'm not sure but maybe the Timming chain has slipped. Is is noisy ?

not noisy at all, had a full engine rebuild only 15000kms ago.

check the plugs, post pics if you are unsure as to what your looking at.
try someone elses leads, i doubt it will be leads.
check the distributor cap and rotor arm and clean the metal parts with some 200 grit emery cloth.
make sure your MAF is plugged in.
explain where it is missfiring in the rpm and throttle.

done plugs did them today, there was a difference, the timing is up over 20 degrees now, it is running but still complaining, i think it is the injectors, imthinking of getting a digital fuel regulator and a bigger fuel pump.

, the timing is up over 20 degrees now...
You might want to check the timing, there should be a sticker under the the bonnet on the left hand side near the front. It has the sparkplug gap and the timing. Double check those numbers with what ur running. ;)
with your timing up so high are u running premium unleaded? you could be getting pinging if yur running normal unleaded.
give premium a go see how it is.
