Umm... would a ram filter fit in a magna?... its pretty and round and looks like it comes off a skyline :D .... but i "read" in one of the other threads... that its better to use an oval filter... i dont have an autobarn nearby so where would one cost and where bouts do you get one... compared to the regular filter...
How many people use a Regular Pod filter, and how many people are using the Panel filter with improvements?
all 2c is welcome...

It's due to the air mass meter that you shouldn't be using a round pod filter the oval pod filter from K&N developed these so the air would flow straight through and I was quoted from AutoBarn $169 but I would just go for the flat panel filter from K&N instead as it's cheaper and will do the same thing anyway which is what I will be doing.

Panel filters flow about 1/1,000,000 of the air that an open-air style filter flows.
read the "Pod filter for tr magna" thread here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?p=400201). I'm having a big hissy-fit over if it will or won't work.
Either K&N filters will work a lot better than your paper/throw-a-way jobbie, although the panel breaths through a little opening while a pod will breath, obviously, a lot more. It seems it comes down too if it works on your car it works, if it doesn't, it doesn't. After all a few guys have tried to sell the the K&N pods (obviously because they get a nice little cut from the high price-tag) but i have seen the pods working 110% with my own two peepers.
Phillcom Rally sell them for $190 inc the adapter plate (which bolts onto the front of your MAS where the airbox does) to your door (that was my quote, if you live further from him its going to obviously cost more for postage, but hey thats not his fault), his msn contact is "anthony@phillcomrally.com", get on there and ask him a price aaaaaaand then its down to you. Panel filters are around $120 or so, depends on where you go. Keep in mind that unless you have a podbox, your pod - no matter what brand etc - is going to breath in warm air from around your engine therefor might lose oomph because the hotter air is, the less dense = not as combustable, which is why people put them down lower say, at the front bumper, to get the freshest coldest air.
Good luck soldier.

i run a pod filter here:
PICTURE (http://www.diamanteowners.com/forum/index.php?&act=garage&CODE=14&type=garage_mod&id=4)
yes its an cone but i balance it like this:
The air is hotter BUT there's a lot more being brought in AND the stock air venting is still there (not sure if its the same for the magna but the diamante had a small duct that ran beside the battery and down infront of it to the opening in the front bumper for a stock CAI) and so you substitute extra air for warmer air, kinda balances out in the density/volume argument in my book, and looks better too.
Honestly as long as you get a metal adapter plate (NOT PLASTIC!) you can bolt a round pod to the oval maf with no trouble at all.
