Hmm... not sure but unless you have a VR-X or Ralliart or an engineers certificate they won't be a legal / insurable selection, especially in Victoria.

There's a couple of owners with 19's on here so see what their offset is.

the legal limit should be 2 size bigger than the stock one.
so, the bigger should only be 17'

Yup, but if he has a Ralliart / VR-X then he's in the clear.

Where do you guys get this 2" bigger than stock rule? It doesn't exist. VicRoads only stipulate that the overall diameter of your wheel must not increase by > 15mm (0.5"). So if you're stock wheel diameter was 25.5", and you upgrade to a 19" rim then you can only fit 7" tyre in order for your wheel to be legal. The only thing is make sure your new tyre meet the specified load index specified for your car. The width of the new rim also should not increase by 25mm (1.5").

Pls read the "real" VicRoads vehicle modification guide: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/vrpdf/rdsafe/VSI%208.pdf

Gold! I just looked over QT's equivilent and it's been updated too. They too now only specify an OD tollerance. So, it's now a question of whether your insurer will allow 2' or anything.

I'm asking whether they will fit or not (I know 19" will fit on a magna, but not too sure about the width 8.5" and offset 45)

Anyone can answer this

thanks

NSW: 2 inches bigger, 1 Inch wider from the stock wheel/tyre placard on your car. Regards RTA.

I think mine where 46 offset.. and mine are 20x8.5`s.. it depends what u wanna do with ride height.. if you want to dump it and have rims under guards then no they wont fit under the rear guards unless u have a ralliart or VRX(not 100% sure on sports). the offset in the rear is differant as the rear arms are narrower.. i went throuh all these dramas so i can tell you..

If you dont drop it this low u can fit anything u want..

This is what i mean by under the guards.. :)

46 offset on 8.5 inch rims is way wrong...what you want is a 32-35 offset or thereabouts...anything above this will come to close or hit the upper rear control arm...the wider the wheel the lower the offset you will need to maintain suspension clearance at the rear...you can always take the wheel of and do some measurements??? otherwise try PM some of the other forum members with 8.5 or 9inch wheels to see exactly what they are using...ie cummins, booya etc
PS depending on how wide your tyres are, be prepared to roll your guards to prevent rubbing...
(also i think EGO meant is offset is 35 NOT 46)
cheers
