Im thinking about having a Redback 2.5 in cat back exhaust fitted to my TF Advance. I was quoted $540 fitted. If anyone has one on their car i would be interested in what they have to say about the power increase (if any) and the sound. And if anyone has any opinions on a different system that could be better i would love to hear from them aswell! Cheers :D

I've got one on my TF manual. Only other mod is a K&N Panel Filter, however I have anEzBoy ported throttle body I have GOT to install soon or he will kill me!

Definitely an improvement from my stock 'swiss cheese' exhaust I had on it. Sounds deeper but not overly loud, so when I come home at 3.30am in the morning after DJing, I don't wake up the whole neighbourhood. Sounds great it you give it some stick (WOT above 4Krpm....)

Has a slight grumble / burble on throttle closing as a bonus, but not crackly or backfiring..... just makes people look at it, but in a more "What's he done to it" rather than "Bloody hoon put fat zorst on his stock car". Had many compliments from people about how it sounds, especially Commy drivers. One who is a good mate of mine wanted to know what else I had done, even got under it and looking around in the engine bay!

Some guys complain about drone, however I am yet to experience any. I have a feeling that a big mother of a tip on these is what makes them a bit droney. I'd stick to a sensible 3" tip, or dual 2.5" tips for a slightly more factory look.

Performance wise, it seems to be breathing better down low, but I'm not sure if that has to do with the fact my last exhaust was so crap. I haven't really driven it hard or long distances yet, so the fuel economy jury is still out. Seems to be much more responsive when you overtake (roll-on acceleration). Yet to be dyno'ed, but looking to do that when the Sydney boys decree the next dyno day. Last time was 113kW with holey exhaust and 91RON fuel.

$540 seems a bit steep. You can purchase off EZBoy for $350 or so, and get your local shop to fit it. Mine cost me $50 for the install by my local shop without any tip (just had to get it through rego). He said he would be happy to fit a supplied system. All up was about $430 including freight from EzBoys shop to me.

Just get EzBoy to get it shipped from the warehouse direct to you. Will end up saving freight that way.

I'd expect that other mods would also respond well to the Redback exhaust. I'm waiting for EzBoy to start doing his 6G72 extractors that have stock clearances, and we imagine that with the zorst, extractors, K&N Panel, Barry's fuel kit and the yet-to-be-installed Ported TB, we should get 122kW, maybe more like 130FWkW's with 98RON.....

I had to do mine for rego, but I am happy with how my 'forced' upgrade went. Money well spent I think.

Thanks for that very in depth answer to my very basic question! I appreciate the effort you went to in answering that for me! I will give EZ boy a PM and see what he can do one for me for. Thanks again.

You're welcome.

I see your are in Victoria... It may end up better for you to buy off that eBay mob and pick up from them to save frieght. I think they are Melbourne based.

I'm telling you that you'll have no regrets fitting one to your Magna.
