Yeah the steering wheel is fine to use but you will need a Boos Kit so you can bolt it on to the stock steering shaft

Boss kits are made for certain cars.. its an adapter thing for the steering wheel made specifically for your car.
eg. They made boss kits specifically for TJ Magnas and other boss kits especially for TP Magnas.
So yeah..

Been there, Done that !

I've put a MOMO in my TR and used an Autotecnica Boss kit
to do it ( Cheaper then original MOMO ones. )

The part number is 901 and I got it from Auto 1 it cost me $70
the original MOMO ones cost about $140

It will bolt straight into your car and your wheel will bolt straight on
as the boss has a multi fit bolt pattern ( like newer mag wheels do ! )

I had to remove the stuff for the buttons on the wheel for the stereo
(I'm not using the standard stereo anyway) and the cruise control
buttons as well as add a horn pin as mine is an Elite but yours will bolt
straight on...

I don't think the original magna wheel will fit the Colt nor the boss
from the Colt fit the manga !!!

My MOMO is an illegal one (11") but it's fun to drive with, like a Go-Kart !!

About your grill I would not paint it chrome as all the chrome paints that are out there are just silver or go silver after a while.

I would buy the one from WWW.OZEPARTS.COM.AU
If you use the step 1 step 2 step 3 on the left side of the screen and select your model car it will bring up a list of parts for it. There is a grill that has a chrome frame around the outside an it's Black or Gray in the middle there about $75 new.. I think it's the same as the ones that come on an Elite so you could try some reckers and get it cheaper !!??

Hope this helps....
