:eh: Unless the TJ's had two bulb designs over it's life, mine has the tongue bulbs which you push straight in. However, the little assembly it sits in twists in like a house light bulb into the tailight.
I too want LED's but can't find ones with the tongue bulb thingymebob

Those LED replacement bulbs are useless - not enough light, and they screw up your blinkers as well (there is not enough load for the flasher, so it flashes really fast like you have a blown bulb) unless you change your flasher module for a fully electronic one (or use a load resistor).
Their off axis performance is worse than useless (ie you have a 15 degree viewing angle, where you used to have about 45 degrees before).
Also not worth having someone run up your ass for the sake of fashion... Other problem is if the person who runs up your ass says that they couldn't see your tails, and the cop (or insurance assessor) checks that they are working, you may not be covered by insurance...

Viewing angle 130 degrees!
They will require some custom assembly to fit/mount them...and big heatsinks...
The flasher unit for the indicator/hazards can be modded, u need to increase the resistance of the current sense resistor (from about 30mOhms to 60mOhms using side cutters to thin the wire that makes the current shunt) to lower the minimum current at which they start to flash at the faster rate.
Went through several generations of LED tail lights and indicators on the TS, any questions just ask away :)

Yeah, sorry about that... :doubt:
Just had some experiences with other people's battles with their insurance companies over claims...
