Here's what it is:

The HALTECH E6X is a powerful real-time programmable fuel injection and ignition system computer designed to control most ignition type engines. Whether 1-6, 8, 10 or 12 cylinders, 1-2 rotors, naturally aspirated, turbocharged or supercharged, the HALTECH E6X can control it.

Your the envy of most of us now.

Do you have a current 1/4 mile & Dyno result? So you can compare the before and after gains.

Hhaha yeah, look at IR007 and then the .813 next to it, you can see the 8's have a small but clear indent on the sides, whereas the 0's don't. Thats why I said it "looks" like 48, you said it "is" 40, like you are so sure :D , But who cares anyway? lol

Yes lovely mitsubishi said pin 10 was something in there factory wiring diagrams.

On the 1/2 dozen other mitsubishi models I have done in perth this wire was on pin 10 of plug A

But on this car, after searching the wire instead of being in Pin 10 was in Pin 23 directly underneath it.

Once that was sorted out car was up and running.

Meh
05-12-2005, 07:26 AM
still not done .............
just waiting on the tune. car runs fine until he puts the map sensor in so he's gotta go back and get it. so once again the lovely Tomorrow comes into play

Meh
15-12-2005, 12:40 PM
oh wat didnt go wrong.. just one thing after another,

then finally it got working and was working great while cold, as soon as the car heated up the haltec would go all crazy and miss cylinders and stuff and there was no home signal or something....

so back to stock sticking with a piggy back now

Black Beard

So in your opinion is it a case of the unit not suiting the car - or the tuners not knowing what they're doing?

What Piggyback you gonna get? Haltech interceptor?

try a different ecu perhaps, LT10 or 8 even.

Meh
15-12-2005, 12:47 PM
the e6x was working through the oscilliscope, and the distributor was sending the right signals, so dunno, not gonna bother wasting any more time on it.

i tried for microtech but 7 months later they didnt return me a computer after paying for it so i got my money back another 2 months later

as for piggy back just goin the interceptor

khorne
15-12-2005, 12:48 PM
sure it is not just that ecu, or maybe you recieve a wrong sensor, ive never heard of these type of problems before. might want to look at other brands of ecu maybe.

khorne
15-12-2005, 12:52 PM
did you think of tring individial coils instead of the destibuter

Meh
15-12-2005, 12:53 PM
distributor wasnt the problem it was the unit itself...
so im not goin to bother sending it off to get looked at then sent back and it may or may not work again then have to send it back, not worth the hassles

turbo_charade
15-12-2005, 12:57 PM
ive had a niggely missfire problem for the last few months because of the distributor i designed isn't working properly. its bloody anoying but it will be worth it.

having a after market EMS has bigger benifits and greater drawbacks, but i reckon its still worth the hassel meh.

Meh
15-12-2005, 01:06 PM
yer well maybe i'll get a diff ecu yet, have to look around, the haltec was just lookin so much better caz it would be plug in and play design..
i still dunno, got alot to think about, like whether i will bother

Meh
17-12-2005, 09:20 AM
ok got the car back today and on the road

no haltec just yet, have a few things to sort out but i might as well stick with it, ive got this far..
my first mod now that i have the car back is a new damn starter motor and reduce my idle down from 2000rpm haha

so gimme a few more weeks once work has slowed down and stuff then should have it up and going again with lotsa power

Good boy. The Haltech should drop straight in. Wiring should be a sinch. Obviously if the unit itself happens to be faulty then you're going to have issues so I hope it's been swapped.

Meh
17-12-2005, 09:55 AM

Cant really understand what went wrong....your haltech was meant to completely replace the functions of the existing ecu and the mitsu engine is'nt exactly complicated and you said the haltech was'nt faulty  ....sounds like your installer had NFI. Sounds very odd to me
