Hey peeps

Looking at buying an amp next week, not sure what to get so i thoguth i would ask u guys...You'se seem to know what use are on abuot :P

Anyways, i got jaycar splits (there 60W i think) and some pioneer 6x9's (60W as well i think)...a mate said to power them on a 50W x 4 channel amp (he recommended clarion for $330) but im not sure what to go. I heard that the jaycars like a bit more then 50W...

I ended up getting jaycar splits but if im not happy with them then ill take em out and stick something else in, they were only 150 bux so im not to fussed.

Budgeting around the 300 bux mark.

Your input is very much appreciated...Cheers in advance

you could go the Response (Jaycar) 4x100W amp to give the amp a bit of headroom, or the Response 4x50W. Both are fantastic bang for your buck. The 4x100W would be my choice as it allows you to upgrade to more powerful splits later and maybe ditching the 6x9s for a small sub...

The Jaycar amplifiers would have to be the best "bang for buck" amplifiers around. Their splits aren't exactly that great, but a lot of people are satisfied with them. Personally, I'm heading towards more SQ products such as Audison amplifiers, somewhat expensive, but you should be able to get their 5 channel amplifier for around $620. I know that's double your limit, but I'm just showing you another route. Also, if you're planning on putting a subwoofer in your car, then I'd recommend getting rid of the 6x9s.

Try the car audio australia forums. There are a fair few 4 channel amps for sale, good quality and very well priced- just pre-loved lol

Otherwise, I would recomend jaycar for their 'bang for buck' rep. Eclipse have out their new EA series amps too. I've been offered an EA4000 with a cheap cabling kit for $400. Great new amp, 4 x 75wrms at 4 ohms, bridgable, adj gains... all the fruit.

Good luck with the buy
