I have a Auto. Gen 3. TE sedan, and I have had no dramas at all, the other day starting off on a drive while slowly gaining speed, the car jolts forward and bang hard into what I think is third gear or second, but then goes into LIMP mode and the "N" neutral selector light on instrument cluster flashes. Apparently it is something to do with tranny fluid checked it, level is fine but perhaps needs a service with a new filter. I get a Auto trans shop to look at it, he calls me and says "The rings on the pump for the trannny, have cracked it is common with these cars then says the Gbox has to be recond. That'll be $2500 plus GST.

I have since removed the car from his workshop and seeking 2nd opinion. The Car starts fine you can put it into reverse and it is smooth change. As soon as you put it in any gear EG. 1-2-3-D the car jolts hard causing a shake and i think it goes into gear, but upon driving will make a hard bang and go into LIMP mode.

ANY IDEAS WILL BE APPRECIATED, ANYONE HAD A GEARBOX RECOND. PRICE?

The car will start fine because it has nothing to do with the engine and lets face it, it won't be going anywhere until you get the trans fixed.
