They can use it, but without knock sensors the only advantage is probably better idle/response - no real extra power though.

Would expect it to be very, very pricey though.

The Jap imports would love it though - they are tuned for 105 octane (eeep!!!!) that they have in Japan.

I think you'll find the premium ron available for street cars in Japan is 100-102 Ron, not 105.

Japan also has an 89 ron as well - which is well below our regular 91!

Ah ok - been told by a Jap importer that it is 105 RON.

Octane boost is somewhat misleading in what it does... Ie. Supposedly increases octane by 2 points... But in reality 98 goes to 98.2 not 100. You need an *awful* lot of the stuff to increase it that much. Autospeed had something about this a while ago...

From what I've heard...

Japan: Regular unleaded is 100 RON. Premium unleaded is something like 104 RON.

USA: Regular unleaded is 89 RON. Premium unleaded is something like 94 RON.

Europe: Regular unleaded is 95 RON. Don't know about their Premium unleaded.

theres a few good ways to get good petrol, get c16 or other types of race fuel, add 5-10 litres in with your normal fill up. works a treat

I think you guys missed my point. The fuel includes 5% ETHANOL .
So would you guys actually use ethanol in ur car even if it's 100ron.
That was my question. Not to debate what RON is in Japan

Why not? Most people don't have a car long enough to see any unfortunate issues from prolonged use of ethanol. Besides, I didn't think 5% ethanol was much.
