I wrote this in the thread "how much would this all cost?" in the 2nd gen area but figured it would be better in here...
I rang the place i normally get my car serviced today to get a rough idea of how much it would cost to get my car fixed. This is what they said...
1. New starter motor: $230 - $240
2. Synchro's: $900 - $1500
3. Noisy Tappets fixed: $200
4. New Clutch (possibly): $850 (this would be cheaper because of the synchro's needing doing too)
All of these prices are inclusive of labour charges...
Do they sound about right?
Thanks :)

yeah, rest seems about right, but you should be able to get a reco-ed box in there for much less.

Got the work all done on my car. 5 days and just over three grand later...
They did a service; replaced the starter motor; clutch; overhauled the gearbox; replaced distributor o-ring; crankshaft seal and rear main oil seal.
It feels like a different car now, the starter motor is VERY quiet :D and the clutch feels different, but better.
I just hope now that nothing else will go wrong...not that there is much left that could go wrong anyway.
