Nice one Tim

Always knew your stereo would be top notch... look at the money you have spent on it and the execution of the Installation... It SHOULD BE!!!!

Congrates on achieving your Goal...

I think some people get confused how this actually works. Sub bass from your subs makes up only about 10-15% of your total score. Much more work has to go into staging, positioning, phase response, channel separation etc to achieve the awesome trophy of state champ. If you entered as normal with no change you would not do well at all. If you ever hear a SQ car for the first time, the first thing you would do is say "where is the bass and treble??"

It is quite amazing what tim does and the patience involved is insaine. Well done son, I'm glad your car has stimulated others as much as it has you :D

Just curious, with all the sound deadening and speakers etc you've got in your car, how heavy is the thing? And whats the fuel consumption like? :P

tks jon, sms me when u know its booked in

Yep she's pretty heavy, nfi how heavy, but the box amps and deadening weighs a tonne.

fuel consumption isnt too bad, 11-13 litres per 100 kms. with fairly spirited driving

Pics... they are around the place...

Peace

SPL on the other hand is Brute Raw Bass power from your subs.. your Fronts hardly do anything to contribute..

congratulations mate. Just a quick question - is it better for sq to have your subs facing into the cabin like that?? iv always heard u should face them towards the boot or is this only for more bass??

magnat
04-12-2005, 10:54 AM
SQ Forwards , SPL Backwards..

Time delay can occur with having them faced backwards..I prefer them to be faced backwards as Audible Bass Appears to be louder..

There are no hard and fast rules.

I would recommend rear loading though, as it's more efficient. I have a fair bit of power on tap and dont really need my music that loud for SQ. Also I liked the box design :p

Although it still cranks to uncomfortable levels.
