Slight body changes, some different badges and rims.

I have a TL VRX,sable pearlescent incolour(dark green almost black),leather interior, factory lowered, dude there, isnt a significant difference between the 2-options wise on the VRX you get more to choose from in regard to interior colours and factory rims overall depending on what you have to spend you might as well go the VRX better package, also the front and rear bars are sportier, where as the VR just has executive style front & rear bars...
hope that helps a little :)

VR is the old Sports version
Vrx, some have leather as an option, Different trim, Mechanically the same. 6 stack in dash cd, 10 speaker instead of 8 Speaker, rear reading lights, just little extras, but not a hell of a lot. I have a VR, and am extremely happy with it. Manuals are just so much more entertaining to drive than the lazy tippy

No rear reading lights in my TL VR-X.
If you are getting a VR-X, try and get a Special Edition. They have the Rali-Art Rims, full body kit, sports Exhaust etc, etc. Leather was also a popular option - mine has it, which was the reason I bought it. I really don't know much about the VR, so I can't tell you anything about it.

I dont have any rear reading lights in my VR-X
Also it has a heaps better sound system, Seats are of a slightly different design, like it has vr-x embroidered in them, fog lights a little different. But the limited ediotn TL VR-X's had the same bodykit as the standard VRX- only copped the Left over ralliart parts, ie wheels/suspension me thinks. altho i could be wrong.

Koni Shocks on the Ralliart? If so, they probably do. Nice firm ride, and better IMO Mag Wheels. The Sound system is good, however I am not able to find all 10 speakers. I can find the 6 in the front, however I can only locate 2 in the rear. I also believe there is a Sub somewhere, but I can't find that either.

rear speakers are 2 way, so they count that as two speakers, sad but true. there really are only 8 speakers, the vr really only has 6 speakers, and the base models really only have 4 instead of 6

Most of it has been covered by previous people, the VR's were actually only done as Mitsu had a whole bunch of Ralliart bits left lying around, so the the VR got the Koni shocks and Enkei rims etc. We had aTL VR and a TW VR-X both for a period of about 6 months. The VR-X was an AWD, and if you're looking for speed, go the VR. If the VR-X is an AWD, the extra weight in it slows it down a bit I noticed, whereas the FWD only VR was quite a bit quicker due to lighter weight. Really depends what you want. Sounds like the Limited Edition VR-X had the left over Ralliart bits too, if you are looking at one of those and it's FWD, go for it I'd say.

Your talking about the VR Limited Edition. VR limited edition got the Koni shocks and Enkei rims etc, as did the VRX Limited Edition. VR was a fully fledged model during the TL series, available as a sedan and the much rarer wagon and in the TW (series2) the sedan got cut, leaving only the VR wagon.

Only the Auto VR-X's are AWD. My Manual is FWD, but I'm happy with that. My VR-X Special Edition has the Enki Rims, Koni Shocks, Leather, and Momo Wheel, which makes it one of the best cars I have ever owned. Go for the TL VR-X Manual, Special edition, and you can't go wrong. Also, have a look on Carsales (http://carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/!cs_content.dealer_results?category_id=1&selected_model=17&selected_region=0&search_type=20&make_id=3&model_id=57&keyword=VR-X&state_id=-1®ion_id=&search_postcode=&search_distance=25), as they have some bargains. I found my Magna this way.
as i recal gazza's VR has koni shocks and 17' ralliart enkeis :P

VR-X & VR Limited Editons both got the left over ralliart bits....so if you had to choose between a standard and the LE version, the LE has the edge with Konis and a few other bits.
A VR-X (regular or LE) looks alot better IMO with a more aggressive front bar. And sounds alot better - the exhaust that came on my LE sounds sweet. (not sure if the same exhaust came on the standard VR-X)
Too bad AWD's never came in manual...
