I'm new to this particular site although I've owned my TE since 2000. It's been pretty reliable with the only major repair being the clutch about 9 months ago :flame: . Still, I shouldn't really complain. I've kept all the services up to it so maybe that's the reason it's been so good.

It does have a couple of PITA problems that maybe you guys with experience can help me with.

I'll post them one at a time. The first one is with the keyless entry. I bought a new one about 18 months ago & now it's stopped working. I did a search in this forum & it looks like I'm up for a new remote. I've had to reprogram it twice since I got it but this time it looks like its' given up the ghost. So, FWIW, thanks for the help. Having said that, I'm very disappointed in Mitsubishi for making such an unreliable part - counting the one the dealer replaced when I bought the car, this is number 3 & unless I can wedge it apart without breaking anything & then get it back together, number 4 is on the way.

Second problem is with the cigarette lighter. It has never worked properly from the first day I got the car but I never noticed it until AFTER the warranty ran out :flame: . Sometimes it works & other times it doesn't so I figure something is loose but I can't seem to be able to see how to get the dams thing out to check it. Can someone please help me? I've done a search but to no avail.

welcome to the club mate with your cig lighter thats a easy pull out best thing is to lift the centre console then pull out the cig lighter secton could be loose wire or not making proper contact.

Thanks Sharkie. I'm sorry if I sound thicker than the offpring of a village idiot & a TV weather girl, but do I have to lift up the entire centre console between the front seats or is there some other small trick?

the plastic area just give it a little pull it is held down by clips
