Just putting in another 5 speed manual gearbox in my tn magna, just wondering how much oil is needed for the gear box, if any one could tell me that would be greatly appreciated

hold the box upright and fill till it dribles out the fill hole. at a guess around 2.7 L

According to my Gregory's manual for the 87-89 TN the manual transaxle uses a 75/85W Hypoid oil, Capicity 2.5 litres.

wtf i mean seriously, any one in their like of mind would know NOT to do that, for the cv joints arent in and it would leak out straight away.

The manual says 2.5L but TC's method is better. I put 2.5L into my old box once and it was noisy as hell, added it till it flowed out the fill hole and it was perfect.

The recommended lubricant (and the one I use) is 75W/85 although I have read on Castrol's website that 80W is suitable too.

You do it with the box in the car with the CVs installed.
