Asylum is on the right track... add a screen with the money left over....

Or look up in the range at the one with the 3inch colour screen built in, it is only new RRP$999. It is black and the screen is off-centered to the right. :D

if you want the wow effect, save up a couple more grand and get a LCD touch screen HU.. otherwise, to most people who get into your car, it's 'just another pretty head unit'

probably not, although the Eclipse headunit i have is touch-screen dvd, mp3, cd and memory stick compatible, and probably isn't much over $1000 nowdays. the only thing missing is a TV tuner which i haven't seen great results in a car anyway

I would like to get a Pioneer JAVIC D1.
Now that would be sweet.

what bout a nice screen and a carputer? could pick up the one in the for sale section, then save up a lil and build a nice carputer, put a tv-tuner in there and have the lot for say under $2k easy. u'd start off with the screen/HU thats in the for sale section, then save a lil more and have the extra...worth a thought anyway

also he hasnt had many bites on the screen, so u could probably get it at a good price

$1000 for bling factor, no offense but that's crazy. Spend $1000 on some subs and have there eyes bleeding so much they won't be able to see the bling.

make sure ur insurance company isnt one of the ones that limits ur stereo value to 10% of the car...which is most of them! and u'd probably blow the whole lot just on the HU. also remember the HU is gonna be the most stolen thing in the car, if they do break in. alarms and immobilisers dont stop ur HU from gettin nicked.

something to think about before blowing alot of money just to impress ur mates. i'm sure they wont really care unless u had a screen, and even then...

Well, immobilisers can't but alarms can. Have like 6 'screamer' alarms setup directed towards the theifs ears, could punish there ears so much that they just leave.

and then you sue them for attempted theft of your vehicle :-)
