Well as the title says i have a amp that is overheating.

Its in a custom incloser, (ill get pics later if you want some) and im just wondering if if 3 fans like this on the back into the boot would help (its a TN they would be where the center plastic plate is)

http://www.pccasegear.com.au/prod2032.htm

would this help cooling it? or should i go for something like a radiator thermal fan that kicks in at a certain temp?

any ideas or help would be great

Are you sure it's the enclosure causing the overheating problem, not a wiring issue ?

Better off putting this in car audio, but dont go making another thread...

Fans and cooling for your amp is a bandaid solution to a bigger problem

Either you are driving your amp beyond it's rated power, causing it to overheat
Or the amp isnt stable at the laod you're running it at.

Possibly a wiring issue as well.

But I'd look at upgrading your amp if you want more power than its capable of sustaining.

im sorry i should have said that i have never had any other problems with this amp, pushed it to within an inch of its life melted ground cables and all, but never had over ehating problems, it was a hot day today and i think this with the new encloser as well as made it alot hotter in the boot, the ambient temp was very high, so would fans help?

A well set up system should never go into protection due to overheating, no matter how hot the day. This is from my experience anyway. As s_tim_ulate said, look at upgrading your amp or try backing the gains off a bit.
Yes, fans may help the problem a little, but I'd look at other fixes first.
