Anyone changed theirs before? How hard is it? What's involved?

Anyone know where you can get those steering wheels that are detachable?

Sorry, just got a bundle of thoughts from that steering wheel that was for sale...

Its very easy but if you have cruise control you either loose your cruise control or keep the existing steering wheel. I personally like the stock wheel. Its nice compared to my last cars.

just keep your stock wheel theres nothing wrong with them , if you take it off you loose cruise control and airbag's .... well that's if you had those options to start with

If it was me i would get it retrimmed with leather, but if i did they id want the rest of the cabin done too... $$$

I'll do it to the AWD... Not the TE.

i love the ralliart but i hate the red. Not my colourscheme. I love blue.

not to fond of the silver console either, it looks good but something about it... oh well, i don't have one so not my place to knock it...

Anyone fitted a VRX wheel to their Magna, cos it is a factory option on TJ's but me thinks it would be very expensive and not worth it.

im curiouse as to how much it would be worth...

I doubt there would be many (if any) wrecked vr-x's in australia.

Next time I'm down at Mitsu I'll aks the spare parts guys. You can only get it in silver leather though. Pics are on the Mitsu Australia website here:

Only for cars with airbag and cruise though (ME!) :D

I have a small(320mm) momo wheel in my TF and it was kind of a hassle to put in, I have non factory cruise so it didnt get in the way but you have to rig up a new horn trigger device cos the old one was on the factory steering wheel, used some old nissan patrol horn mechanism and it works well. If you were serious enough you could relocate factory cruise to the steering column and hook it up. I know other people who have also ripped the airbag out their magna for a nicer steering wheel.
Compared to other cars the magna wheel is larger than norm, now when I get behind the wheel of a standard one it feels like driving a bus, the Ralliart wheel has Momo leather padding over what is a stock wheel and makes the steering wheel even chunkier and bigger. Ralliart should have got a wheel more like the new STI which is one of the best I have seen.

personally i love the wheel and its just the right size , and i think its actually illegal to replace a steering wheel with an aftermarket one if the original one had an airbag... but you would have to check with your own states laws.

the power steering bits and pieces arent actually attached to the wheel - all components are found under the hood.
