I now have the worlds greatest car... A V Magna.... someone decided my car should no longer be a V6 but to be just the V :doubt:
I tried ebay for a magna V6 badge, or some equivellant... i think i found a commodore v6 that seemed ok... but i would rather get a propper mitsu badge...
Where can i get a V6 Badge? and does it come with the double sided stickness so it just applies straight on?
Cheers

Have you tried either a wrecker, or a mitsu dealer??
They would be my first ports of call (in that order) Double sided tape is dead cheap!

if your keen on another v6 badge, just go mitsu, but IMO, take of the V, clean that area up, then take off the old mitsubishi and magna badges and replace it with a 3rd gen MAGNA bagna bage......looks way classier then the old grey on black badges........"foxpants" even got the GT badge from the 380 and put it alongside his MAGNA (3rd gen) bagde.....i reckon thats the way to go!

yeah looks a treat

the magna emblem is from TJ series @ 11$ and the GT is at 9$ both from mitsu dealer, they can get u any badge from any mitsu car if u want em too, so a new v6 is easy as, but if your dead keen on it, at least go v6ei or sommin :D

I'm still debating what to badge my Diamante with.
I know i'm gonna remove the whole DIAMANTE emblem and replace it with DEEP BLUE (what everyone started calling my car). The only other dilema i have is when i get the Twin Turbos installed what to call the trim level. Right now i have the LS in the lower right of the boot, but my choices will be VR2 (technically not a VR4 as its not AWD), LSTT (Luxury Sedan Twin Turbo - Pronounced LUST), TT (just Twin Turbo), and GT (mainly cos GT is used on a lot of Mitsu cars)... Decisions decisions...

06-12-2005, 11:49 AM
i would get DEEP BLUE TT
its simple, and people know whats in it, without all these other little abbreiviations flying around
how much is it in the states for custom plates?
Dpack_1
06-12-2005, 11:57 AM
i've already got DP BLUE on my plates, And the idea was to not really give away whats under the hood...
I found a place that can do complete custom emblems which is how i'm getting the DEEP BLUE, I might just stick with TT though as to not make it look like some dealership logo or something you know.

Mate I've still got all the badges off my TJ I don't want, so if you wanna take em off my hands pm me.
Dont get a GT badge.. People (Ford people in particular) will laugh at you...
Its bad enough Mitsubishi labelled their flag ship 380 a GT..

i tried drifting a magna, on roads, i got it down pat pretty well with out a hand brake as well  till it do what front wheel drives od best, it oversteered i think it is, and when i put my foot on the brake and turned it kept heading straigh, straight for a gutter and a tree :(

14-12-2005, 08:55 AM
By the very definitation of the word that would be understeering... RWD's oversteer by pushing the ass end around causing you to steer more then what you were aiming for.

i would give drifting a go... but id rather start out bush.... and i dont wanna take my car out bush lol so im gonna have to see if i can get a large amount of oil + rainy day = Hazard driving ... and for thoes who worry, i got a perfect abandoned place to give it a go so im not gonna cause trouble... :doubt: unlike somone has done to me previously....

Yeah im thinkin something more... sexual... lol jks... heres a pic of the current state of the badge
i dont think the actual paint work has been Tooo badly damaged... its also that sticky stuff?
how would i take off the V without hurting anything?!? and how would i clean it all up? coz i dont wanna make it look like ive got One clean section on my car :P

16-12-2005, 12:27 AM
Use a length of fising line to 'cut' behind the badge, slowly move it back and forth and eventually you'll get through the glue.
To remove the left over sticky stuff you can use all sorts of products, we specifically have a thing called "goo-gone" here in the states thats purpose made to get rid of left over glue on things, it works great. You can use terps or white spirit if you like, just work fast and make sure you dry the excess off real quick else it'll eat your paint.
Now whatever you use to get the glue off make sure you rewax your car, and in particular that area as whatever you're using will also eat into a layer of wax and if left long enough your clear coat.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but what would be the best year model to get a VERADA badge for a KR? The TL-TW range?
[TUFFTR]
16-12-2005, 09:07 AM
Melvinator - i used Bug And Tar Remover......you have to leave it on for about 5 minutes to work but its pretty good, they actually come with waxes now to wax as you remove :doubt:
MaccyD - yes, out of that range would look cout, im pretty sure thats where mine was from, i think just the newer badge on the back makes the whole cars appearance alot better.

heres a pic of the current state of the badgeI was going to say, how could they badge the "6" when the "V6" is a single entity; but they did, why the hell would they go to the trouble of cutting it up to badge it? Lucky they didn't hack into your paintjob in the process.

lol i sorta find it funny now that i think about it... but still its bloody annoying, ill go talk to the mitsu dealer today... see if he can get me some speccy badges :D.... and hope the badges can cover the old badge spot and not look.... out of place :doubt:

dw bout a new V6 one......just get the new MAGNA badge and place that on either side (i chose the right side).
use a bug and tar remover or some thinners, followed by a cut (no polish....wont stick)......then you should be looking Gro0Vyyyy

hmmm... Should i take them all by surprise and leave it V6 less... i photochopped the spot clean... :doubt: sunglare made me unable to change the other badge...

Melvinator
16-12-2005, 04:34 PM
its errmm.... Bent... i think is a word to use... *shrugz*
its coz of that gay pully thingy... i think it needs replacing... and to have that crappy thing pulled off
It doesnt actually look that bad, only on that photo... general driving it just makes it seem like the exhaust pulls the rear bumper out or something :P
well its safe to say... I DIDNT DO IT... it came like that... its why i was kinda interested if there were more than just One bodykit for the 2nd gens... because the bodykit i was looking at only had front, skirts and spoiler and thats it... would be nice to find another kit... but i havent seen any at all... mebe im not lookin hard enough
your on your l's.... WITH THAT CAR.... REEET... :doubt: i had a crappy datsun for my learners... till i got my TS

Here's my 20 seconds.
Debadge the car. You will like the fresh look. If not, get the new shiny chrome Magna badges from Mitsubishi and slap one of them on. The're a treat.
