ok well it was bought (brought? im bad @ grammer :P) to my attention that ebay sell these nice shiney intake pipes
Intake Pipe (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MITSUBISHI-3000GT-STEALTH-NON-TURBO-91-99-INTAKE-PIPE_W0QQitemZ8019247549QQcategoryZ38634QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem)
unfortunatly they dont ship to AUS, so thats outta the question, i was wondering if anyone has had one made up, if so what would be the going rate for one of these?
i wouldnt mind one as ive heard it kicks the "removing intake resinators" ass in terms of sound....and if i could scource one for around $50 or so id be happy, but then again i have no idea how much these pipes are to make......so can anyone help me?
oh btw, car in question is TR V6 and im in VIC

Yeah, I've spotted these too. Do some more searching and send them a nice "will you ship to Aus?" Question as some say US Only but will ship out if you contact them.
This was one of my planned future mods too. They sell them in the nice shiney chrome/polished look and sometimes a nice polished blue too.
My best quote from one of the US ebayers was around $100-$120 including shipping to Aus.

it also says improved air flow.....i guess it should be better for about .05of a Kw i guess.......better then nothing :)
$120 isnt to bad.....i might give em a yell.....it might just be a waste considering my engine bay hasnt been detailed ONCE LOL
*EDIT*
most of these seem to come with the round POD filter....is it just me or is that a BAD thing for the magnas:S - i see another hundred down the drain on the oval POD
*EDIT*
found one

I have one of these, cant say what they do for performance but know they sound and look great (assuming you do have a detailed motor).
If any of you guys like i could look into a group buy and then ship them independant of the ebay companies (i.e. i'll buy them all and have them shipped over there to the individual buyers).
Also look around, there's like 5 or 6 ebay stores that sell these things and one of them might do international shipping...
Oh and this is how they'll look on a dressed up engine bay:
<edit> Round pod filters do NO HARM WHATSOEVER in these engines, seriously, its just a scare tactic to get you to buy the 100 dollar oval K&N, just use the supplied adapter plate and get a 3inch round filter! </edit>

id be innit, (considering it works out cheaper) and im pretty sure foxpants would be in it aswell.
your engine looks DA SHIZ....love the polished plenium (i think thats whats it called?)
i would want one mainly for noise....i have taken off the resinators but with the K&N panel the grunt is only from 300rpm> onwards......and its only until you get to about 5000rpm it sounds hella sick, i would like that same sound, but down low.
hopefully it could be arranged to get it here for around $100 AUD

Hell for 100AUD you could get it direct from one of the sellers on ebay, the cheapest pipe is like 30USD, Shipping should be no more then 30USD too so 60USD = 80AUD... even if the total comes to 75USD Shipped you're still at 100AUD.
Send a couple emails to the companies on eBay (namely these guys (http://feedback.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=delubozparts ) they're who i got mine with and we're real easy to deal with)
The polished intake plenum (yeah thats the bit with the 6 pipes) was done by hand, took about 5 days, a lot of sand paper and even more elbow grease but you gotta love that polished engine look :D. With this intake and my exhaust set up i get a real nice growl between 2000-3000rpms. Sounds BEASTLY at 4000-Redline but i get a minor drone inbetween, but thats no bad thing cos i cruise around 2800rpms most of the time.
EDIT: Maybe not them guys (delubozparts) cos i just checked, thier prices went WAY up, but yeah, you get the idea, shop around, get them to play off each other "but 'this guy' will ship for X amount" ... that kinda thing.
A lot of companies do them too, such as Injen. They come with a filter and adapter plates etc but are substantially more than those ebay items mentioned. you could use any filter you want on these as well, oval, round etc.. oh and dpac, the filter that everyone lives buy is $200..

Yeah, sorry, was going by US prices, a K&N oval over here is like 120 or something.
Oh and Nick, my turbo project MAY be delayed a couple months so unless you can wait for my pipe you might be better off trying to get one from one of these companies on ebay.
