They are ok... dont like the frequency response but. Have you already bought them or not? Could you possibly stretch your budget out other week?
I have heard loads of < $500 splits and the best by far are the Boston FS- 60 RRP$359. You could get them down to $300 or so after haggling. If you are serious about SQ, i would get a pair of them, other wise if you are happy with you Jaycars then by all means keep them. If you live in Sydney go to FHRX studios.... they will tell you whats good and whats not. If you want to look at their work go to www.fhrxstudios.com

Yes the other day i put in some 6.5inch Fusions into my TJ and all you have to do is re-drill the holes, if you have power windows, getting the door apart and doing it yourself is easy. :D
If memory serves me correct I think Slayer had some of these splits for sale???? Ask him if they are good or not.
I will most likey be getting these splits for my TJ. good value for money 8)

I've got them.
Unless you can get a good discount, they're not worth it over the cheaper model.
I did get a GOOOOOOOOOD discount so I got them :D, they're a bit better than the blue ones but not worth the price difference.
I paid like 116 for them, and in for that price you would be hard pressed to find anything better.
But yes if you can stretch your budget (I think the rrp one the kevlars is 199?) you can get a nice set of boston's or Hertz.

Yeah they sound great, obviously they're nothing on splits in higher price ranges, you do get what you pay for. But for the price they're excellent.
Off the top of my head I cant think of comparable brands, but I think Xplod has some splits in the price range I paid (between 100-150 bucks) and these are much better in SQ and SPL

Pioneer, clarion and JVC are a few off the top of my head that you can get splits under $200. Go to the shop and have a listen, find what appeals to you.

As has been mentioned I had a pair of these briefly installed into my system after doing lots of research and reading lots of good reviews. The improvement over the stock speakers is huge you start hearing things you weren't hearing before, they are also a fairly warm speaker which can be more pleasing to the ear. I ran them off the stock headunit, then a jvc headunit then an amp very briefly and they coped nicely on all of them and I never pushed them to distortion purely because any louder was really hurting my ears so volume isn't really an issue. My upgrade set of splits were mbquartz reference series which are retail for above $500. They sound different and better but it's not like night and day so the kevlars do hold there ground. As I think has been mentioned car audio is terribly terribly addictive I started out just over a month ago saying I would only get the kevlar splits and leave the rest of the system stock, I've now spent over $1500 very easily and have just ordered over $200 of stuff just to sound deaden the front doors. So unless your very disciplined there is a good chance they won't be your last set of splits but it can be a case of diminishing returns as you start to spend more
